All my recipes say to peel the apples, which I do. However, the recipe in the Ball Blue Book gives a recipe for apple rings and says to leave the peel on.
I have made applesauce without sugar before, and it is fine. I use a pressure canner, but the BBB calls for waterbathing. Maybe someone else will chime in here. Enjoy all that produce.

I will never buy micro fiber again, ever. Seems like they are predominant in Big Lots and WM, but we do not like them.

Salmon patties (or croquets as we used to call them) can be made after picking all the bones and skin out. I would never just dump the can in and mix it up. My mother picked it and so do I. Last time I made them I wondered if a time was coming when we would eat all of it just to have a little more.

They are blessed to be "your twins".
May 2014 hold blessings for all of us, and may we recognize them.

Its not the ing that bothers me, we say in for ing sometimes, too. This is placing the emphasis on the ending that is not said using all the letters. Hard to explain. Listen for it.

It is close for me, one in Tennessee where I grew up, just wrong city.
What I want to know is where in the world are young folks getting the new way of saying words that change the ending, like think-n for thinking where they emphasize the n rather than saying the ing sound. They do it with ent or int endings also. Have seen it on TV, but am even hearing it in our little city. How do these things catch on so fast?

I would certainly use as is. It's not that much out of date, and I remember when nothing had use by dates on them.

Boric Acid is also used to kill ants by pest controls here.
My mother used it on us kids when I was little, too.

We have a Progressive apple peeler, corer. You can get it from Walmart.com, shipped to store free. It is under $20 before tax. Ordered a second one for DD since we have used ours for 7-8 years. Well worth the money.

Never even eaten rhubarb here in the South.
Lots of apples here, so the dehydrator is going now.

Applesauce. This is a bumper year for apples around here.

I think mine only held pints, about 6 if I remember. Maybe that was why it was too small.
-
Some time ago, I believe Violet said these were too small (I had one), so I got rid of mine. Not positive on the size, but maybe she will check in soon.

You did good--now to fill them.

Per my old grandfather - long deceased, nail the tail to a tree, skin it, gut it, cut the head off. You can then slice it into fillets or steaks. Roll in corn meal and fry them up.

Good for you.

Got mine today, can't wait to listen.
Thank you for your generosity.

You have an e-mail.

What a blessing you are to us, in the past and presently. Praise the Lord for your testimony.

Thank you. I printed and hope to use soon, the recipes I looked at seem so simple.

I remember her, and some others that I miss. She sure was a strong woman with lots of trials. Hope she is doing well, and I would think writing a book may mean she is.

Enjoy your day.
