  1. We don't have cats or poultry so that is no problem. We have two dogs and the yard is fenced in. A live trap is about $50.00 and we just don't want to go to that expence right now.

It rained during the night, so racoon didn't come. Will see what happens tonight, see if he returns. But, it looks like the hot pepper might have done the trick. smile.gif

Ok, now, I have to ask, what are Anatolians? Sorry, but haven't heard of them.

  2. It started raining sometime in the night and we are so in need of it. Now, if it will just rain nice and easy for the day, it will be good. smile.gif We haven't had but a few drops of rain for at least 3 weeks now.

It was cool again yesterday, maybe just working toward the rain. wink.gif It is about 58 here now.

  4. Oh yes, a party, lets see, what shall we take and just where will we go. smile.gif

I think while we are having a party, it should be in your honor, Midnightmom too. After all, you are the one who got all the 'A's' at school. smile.gif

See, she isn't telling all, is she. wink.gif

  5. Good morning and welcome, Reci. Happy to meet you.

Sounds like you are having a great time redecorating your home. You need to post a picture of it so we can see it.

Yes, please keep us updated. smile.gif

To start a new day, I brought some nice warm muffins.

  6. It is so sad when one person can make such a mess for others.

I agree with the others though, your health and mind are not worth the things you have to deal with if you stay at this job. If you are able to find something different, I sure would.

    Keep us informed.

Oh, by the way, I just love your sig. smile.gif

  7. Congrats on the 'A' Midnightmom, great going.

Hope you had a good time at the lunch, post and tell us all about it. smile.gif

Man, school is that close. I suppose some of the grandkids will be starting about that time or sooner. They always start early in TX. Seems to me it was about the 12th of Aug. last year.

  8. Good idea Lois, and probably will get a better answer. smile.gif

Let us know what you find out T.

Oh, T. buy the way, my computer went down and had to get a new one. I don't have your ICQ any more, could you ICQ me? smile.gif That goes for anyone else I had on my list.

  9. Oh, Darlene, if you have the will power to exercise and everything, you probably won't gain a lot of weight. But, you do need to take care of your body and stop smoking. smile.gif Glad you are doing something about it.

I know how hard it is to quit. No, I never did smoke, but DH did for about 35 years. It was 4 years ago next month that he had a heart attack, small one thank goodness, but still, it was a heart attack. The Dr. told him he is NO longer a smoker. He has not had a cigarette since that time. He has said there were times he would have liked one, but hasn't had one. He is at the point now that the smoke bothers him about as much as it bothers me. smile.gif

Keep us informed on how it is going, please. We are all concerned.

  10. I have to say that you are really, really doing great Dee. That is a great amount to lose and you have done a great job. smile.gif

Also am happy to see you all posting about this and want to thank you for the ideas you have given and will give.

I need to get back on the diet, but have to be careful, I posted in a different post why. smile.gif Anyway, thank you for ideas and recipes and all.

One day soon, I will start the low-carb diet again.

  11. I am so happy to see all of you posting like this. smile.gif

I know that the low-carb diet is a good one, I was on it several years ago, and I too lost several pounds. Well, I was on it for only 8 weeks and I lost 16 pounds. I wasn't happy with just that much, but the dr. I had said that was a good amount, and 2 pounds a week was much better than 4 or 6, as I was more likely to keep it off. Well, I didn't keep it off and I ended up gaining more. frown.gif

Right now, my dr. said I cannot be on it more than a month, so it will be rougher.

You see, I have several medical problems, I have heart desease, I have a pace maker. I have high cholestrol, I have dieabetes and I have a hydial hernia. I take meds for everything except my heart.

I love bacon and eggs, ham and all the meat that I can eat, but have to watch it.

With all of you talking about this, I would love to get started agin, but right now I don't have the will power. I know, that sounds like a cop-out or something, but just give me time.

Oh, I forgot to say that I also have allergies and asthma. So those are also a problem at times.

  12. Glad to see you here Midnightmom. smile.gif I like it when we get new people posting in here too. smile.gif Lets see how many people we can get posting in this forum. smile.gif

Thank you Midnightmom for the ideas of something different than ice cream. I know that has been my BIG downfall. I just love it, and I know I have to cut down and then cut it out all together.

  13. Wow, you two are doing just great. smile.gif

Goosie, we have no garden. frown.gif But just wait until next week, I spent yesterday outside. smile.gif

Dee, I get up early, but with the humidity the way it has been, I haven't been able to go out, even that early. I know, I have my treadmill, just haven't been using it much lately. frown.gif Have to get busy again.

Anyway, you two are doing soooo good. smile.gif

Anyone else waking???? Come on Fran, I know you did a lot last week. She was gone and did some walking with her DD and DSIL.

  14. Goosie, I am still trying. smile.gif

Don't know how I will ever do it, but, I am going to keep trying.

Now, if MM doesn't come to this forum and do a lot of posting, maybe I can catch up in here. smile.gif

  15. Aww, Momo, we don't want you to keep your voice down in here. smile.gif We want all the info you can give us. smile.gif

I hope things will work out so we can ALL find our missing links. smile.gif We all have dead ends that need to be found. frown.gif Wouldn't that be GREAT!!! if we all could just go on and on and on. smile.gifgrin.gif

So glad you posted Momo, now, you really need to get a sig. Come on, get MM to make you one. smile.gif

  16. If you are doing a meal, that is one thing, but just a party, that is different.

Westbrook is right, just the trays are great and people don't expect a lot. I think I would add a fruit tray to that also. smile.gif

If you are doing a meal, then the BBQ is great and just have a couple salads, Baked Beans, veggie and fruit trays and cake. People really shouldn't expect you to go to a lot of work. smile.gif

Tell Carrie congrats for me. smile.gif I wish her well in all she attemps to do in her life.

  17. Good morning Lowlander, well, not sure what time it is at your home now.

Well, I have two quilts to get made before Christmas for grandchildren, and I really want to get them done. Both will be 4 on their next birthday. The quilts I make have their names, their parents names, the grandparents names and the aunt and uncle names. Along with the birth dates of all. Then I also put the birth stone, flower and their zodic sign on it, and a few baby animals. The quilts are not just for the cribs though, they are large enough they will cover a reg size bed. smile.gif

Now, on top of that, I want to learn to cross stitch. I plan to do some things for the county fair for next year and want to cross stitch, embroidery, as well as paint on cloth and get some other things done for the fair. smile.gif Then, I can use them or give them as gifts. smile.gif This is my winters plans.

It isn't so crafty, but I do a family news letter 4 times a year too and one is due out by the end of this month. smile.gif
