  1. Thought I should put that in here. Just so we could all review it and so anyone new who wanted to add miles would know how. Ok, let me see if I can remember all the rules. Walking or riding a bike, miles are as done. Going up and down stairs 12 times is one mile. Gardening, house cleaning, shopping, etc., are 1 mile per hour. Mowing or raking lawn, 1 hour is 3 miles. Lefting weights, and other exercise, 1 hour, is 1 mile. Did I miss something, if I did, let us know. Hope this helps. ------------------

  4. Sure nice to see you, Garden Keeper. Glad you checked in. I was beginning to wonder where everyone is. How are you doing and what is going on in your life? How is the weather there? ------------------
  5. You are so right, Westbrook, fresh veggies and fruit that you have grown is the best. We don't have a garden any more, but at one time we had a hugh one. I canned and canned veggies and froze others. I do have to agree, that something must have gotten into the berry patch. The kids should have shared with you though. ------------------
  6. Hi Westbrook, good to see you again. I think you are just fine here. At least I think so. If this isn't the right place, MM can let us all know. ------------------
  7. Ok, I will get it here just wait and see. http://www.stitchguide.com/stitches/embroidery/ Yes, the url for Embroidery. Now, I can ------------------

  10. Hi, AM, nice to see you post again. I have a nice cast iron dutch oven with legs and I think it was about $40.00 and it was on sale. I don't know the answer to your question though, AM, anyone else know? ------------------
  11. Tomorrow is mile check day. I'm trying my best to make as many posts as I can. MM is running away from me. Check out the FA forum. ------------------
  12. Where should I put these flowers, girls. I know Ed will really love these in here. ------------------

  14. I know why she has that name, but I will let her tell the story again. ------------------
  15. Here is another very good site. It gives you general sewing instructions. http://www.leenas.com/English/sew_general.html ------------------
  16. Just found another interesting site for you if you are just learning to sew. http://www.sew-whats-new.com/sewinglessons/ Be sure to check it all out. ------------------
  17. If you don't know how to sew, but would like to learn, I found a very good site that has all sorts of information on it. Be sure to look under all the titles at the top of the page too. I think a person could spend a long time looking at this information. Happy sewing. ------------------
  18. Good morning again lowlander. Nice to meet you and hope to see you post a lot. I am from Minnesota, and have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren. Two dogs who think they are people. Been married almost 40 years, will be in September. Yes, MM is right, the Sun Porch is a great place for parties. ------------------
  19. We had our rain yesterday too, about a 2 minute rain. Not enough to do any good. Almost enough to say it rained, and we could really use a rain. If it rained, maybe it would help with the humidity. It is really bad out there today. Feels like about 110 humidity. Not sure what the high was for yesterday, but the A/C ran most of the day and night again. Also had the fans on all over the house. Just give us a few months, and we will all be complaining about the cold. Well, up here we will be. ------------------
  20. Well now, Debbie, I will have to think on that one. Yes, I thought on it and I love ice cream so if that is what you want, go for it. It isn't good for us, but some of us just have to have it. ------------------
  21. Here are a few places you can get charts. http://broadcasting.byu.edu/ancestors/charts/ This first one has a few new charts that I haven't seen in the past. To use these charts, you will need to download and configure Adobe Acrobat Reader, if you don't already have it installed. You can get Acrobat Reader for free at Adobe's website, and the site is listed there. Here is another site you can go to and get charts. It has a lot of other information at this site too. http://www.lacrosselibrary.org/BeginGene.htm Here is the one from Ancestry, these seem to be some of the best. http://www.ancestry.com/save/charts/ancchart.htm Here again you need the Acrobat Reader to download these. Just thought I would put these back on so those who are just getting started would have a way to make charts and not have to buy them. Hope this helps someone. ------------------
  22. I don't, but here is a site where you can learn how. At least it says you can. Who knows, maybe I will try to learn. I really would like to. Well, I have done a little around pillowcases and such, but I would like to learn to do more. http://crochet.about.com/library/blbeginne...PM=ss11_crochet Hope this helps someone. ------------------
  23. While I was doing a search, I came across this url, and there is a message board where you can post any questions or other information you have on knitting. The site looks very interesting. http://66.40.93.184/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi Now, I hope this works for you. I just couldn't see this forum setting here waiting for the first post. So, I posted. Now, lets decorate it with needles, yarn, floss, thread and materials of all kinds. ------------------
  24. If you go to http://www.rootsweb.com do a search on a name, it will bring up a lot of things. When it comes up, click on world connect. This will bring you to a list of names, if they have the name you are looking for. From there you can see if someone else is working on the same people you are. Now, at the bottom of the page you get with all the names on, there is a place to add the spouse, mother, father and other information which will help narrow the hunt down. Hope this helps someone. ------------------
