  1. Those sound great, Homey, thanks for posting about them. I think I will try to find them on the net too. I have never heard of them before. I use to listen to the Back to the Bible Broadcast years ago. Sometimes we can pick them up on the radio when we are traveling. ------------------
  2. I am putting down 9 1/2 miles for last week. Now if I can just get back to really walking everyday that would help. Ok, who is next, come on, even if it was only a mile, that is that much. Be a sport and post it. Come on Fran, I know you walked in TN and you didn't put it down last week. I know you were sick last week, so we forgive you. You just get to feeling better. ------------------
  3. After eating that, we will all need exercise. Just come on to my house and we will build a fence. Of course first someone has to clear some brush and a few trees. Very good recipe Homey. I have never made a Coconut Cream Pie, but I do like them. Also, Banana Cream Pie is very good. ------------------
  4. It is soooo good to see you again Motherearth. I do hope you are feeling much better now and hope you will soon be back to where you should be. Just take it easy and take care of yourself. We have all missed you around here, so take care. ------------------
  5. Not good Ed, not good. You just never tell her something like that. Well, now are you trying to tell us something? We know you two have been wanting a baby, is there one on the way???? Come on tell. ------------------
  6. I have heard so much about Cape Cod, but I don't think I will ever get that far East. But, of course, one never knows. ------------------
  7. That is great news for sure. ) ------------------
  8. I talked to Fran last evening and she is still very weak from having the flu. She saw the dr. on Friday and she was running a 104 temp. She said she would post when she gets to feeling better. ------------------
  9. But, Cat, Momo didn't put hers there. ------------------
  10. Good morning ladies. Snowy, now that is a new one for me. Most call me Snow but this is cute. Beb, Do and Spot, what shall we call Brigid, let me think, Bridy there we go, what do you think? Hope you are all having a great day. ------------------
  11. You can get free lessons on line, isn't that great. Here is the url for the first lesson, then there is a place at the side to go for the second lesson as well as other things. http://www.aquiltersdelight-anqs.com/page7.html Lets see how many will be starting a quilt this year. ------------------
  12. Just found this one too. This one tells you the size to cut your material and how to put them together. http://www.ezquilt.com/project.htm Here is one that looks like a nice one to start with. http://www.bat1000.com/swtht16ptch.htm ------------------ [This message has been edited by Snowmom (edited July 28, 2002).]
  13. Just doing some checking this morning and I found several sites, but I think this might be one of the best. The first time I tried to get it, it didn't come up, so keep trying and I'm sure it will work. http://www.womensearlyart.net/quilts/ Hope this will help some of you. ------------------
  14. Deblyn, sorry about your loss. Now about your quilt. I haven't made quilts other than the ones I mentioned, but there are many ways to use the material you have and make pretty designs. Here is one url for a couple designs. http://www.victorianaquiltdesigns.com/Vict...koftheMonth.htm Here is another one. When all of the quilts come up, the one at the bottom would be nice. It is called, 'From My Garden With Love'. The others might not work for what you want. http://www.simpleas.com/designs.html Here is a very good site. If the url doesn't work at first, try again, as I couldn't get it to work the first time I tried it. But, here goes. http://www.womensearlyart.net/quilts/ I hope you are able to find something in one of these you can use. ------------------
  15. Momo, please ICQ me. I don't have your number as I lost all of my numbers when my computer went down. That goes for anyone else who was on my list and want to be again. Thank you. ------------------
  16. You are so right, Spit was here one day and hasn't been back since. Wonder where she went, maybe to stock up on the sugar? Di, are your parents back from their little trip yet? Maybe you can get your Dad to set still long enough to make at least one post. ------------------
  17. Good morning Lois. How is your mom today? I am sure she will be feeling better each day. ((((((HUGS)))))) ------------------
  18. Welcome back FarmLady. Nice to see you again. We all have times when we aren't able to post as much as we would like to, so don't worry about not being here much. Just come when you can. Now, I have some warm muffins and coffeecake to start the day with. ------------------

Thank you Madkat for posting the site. I have read part of it and it is very interesting. Here again, I would have to get the ok from my Dr. Not sure I could go without the meat or dairy products. ------------------
  20. We have our two dogs. They bark every time a car comes in. They even bark when we come home from town. I get a lot of exercise because of their barking. ------------------
  21. Thank you for all of this information Midnightmom. This is all very interesting and there are a couple sweeteners I have never heard of before. I remember my parents used Saccharine in their ice tea. Our DD is using Splenda now since her surgery. ------------------

    Can I Join In?

Hi there Madkat, of course you can post here. Anyone and everyone is welcome here. I have done the low-carb diet too, but it was a long time ago. I do need to find a diet I can live with. I need to talk to my Dr. and I may go back to the low-carb for a month. That is all he will allow me to be on it at a time. Please tell us all about the 'Hallelujah' diet. It sounds like it would be interesting. ------------------
  23. Thanks for posting this site. It will be a help to me. Some place in this house, I have a little carb counter book, but it has been some time since I have looked at it. Guess I should see if I can find it again. ------------------
  24. Reci, I have read the Janet Okes series, but it was a very long time ago, probably close to 18 or so years ago. Whenever they first came out at least. We bought them for our DD and after she read them, I did. Anyway, it was a long time ago. I am afraid I am not one of the readers here, I just don't do a lot of it. If it comes in a movie, I will watch it rather than read. My DH reads all the time. He has read all the Zane Gray and Louis L'amour books he can find and he is into Sci-Fiction books. Anne McCaffrey is one of his favorite writers another is Tom Clancy. ------------------
  25. Oh Reci, you have found a real find. I would love to have a chance to read those contracts. But, I am sure we will never make it out to NY. According to our family history, one of my great-great-grandfather was raised by his uncle who was a slave owner in KY. We don't know just why he and some of his brothers were raised by the uncle and we have never found out who his father was though and would love to find out. We have a lot of unanswered questions on several sides. But we are never going to give up the hunt. Thank you for sharing this information with us. ------------------
