  1. Welcome to Mrs. S. Sue, nice to meet you. I would love to visit your country someday, but doubt if I will ever make it. I don't like to fly and I don't like boats. I have made several quilts, 5 for grandchildren and one for each of our 3 adult children. I have 2 more to get made yet before Christmas this year. I have been putting them off and just have to get them done. The ones I make have been a genealogy type quilt. I have put parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles on the grandchildrens quilts and with the others, I have continued with great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents. I put birth dates and death dates, (where needed), along with the birth stones and flowers and zodic signs. I use the fabric paint to do them in. Takes less time than to embroidery them. They are large ones and fit on a reg. - queen size bed. Be sure to join us in the 'Sewing' forum. ------------------
  2. Welcome home, Spitfire. Happy you could make it. Now, just leave the sugar alone. I like your sig too. ------------------
  3. Looks like just you and me. Come on people, lets PARTY!!!!!!! Well, we will just have to see if we can get them interested in it. There is all kinds of food on this ship, and the intertainment is something else. The pool is great and the movies they are showing are some of the best. ------------------
  4. Favorite things, wow, lets see, there are so many. Doing genealogy Watching the birds, we have several feeders. Posting in Mrs. S. Seeing our grandchildren when we can I have to agree with Ice Cream Watching 'Old movies' like 'Ma and Pa Kettle' or the old musicals. Travel, if I could I would love to travel. ------------------
  5. Have to agree with Debbie, you have to tie him down better, or use some tape. ------------------
  6. Thank you for your reintroduction. It is nice to get reminders. Talk to MM about getting a nice sig. She makes the nicest little picture 'Thangs'. ------------------
  7. Hi Twila, good to see you again. ------------------
  8. Again, I am so happy that things are working out for your mom. Glad your sister will be able to stay and help too. Please keep us updated. ((((Lois and Mom))))) ------------------
  9. I am so glad that you are all having success. I agree, Midnightmom, you should either have a daily post, or each one of you make your own post and keep it up daily. That is what we did before. This way we are all able to see your success. Please keep us up dated on how things are going. Just sorry that I am not, at this time, able to join you on this diet. Also, am glad to see you post what you have eaten each day. It will give everyone an idea, and will help others of us too. ------------------
  10. Reci and others, Fran and I had discussed having this some time ago. Then Fran asked Darlene about it and she allowed us to do it. We are happy to be here and will help anyone who we can. Genealogy has been in my blood for soooo many years now. I just wish we could find some of the connections we need. But, I won't give up, some day we will find it. If anyone has questions, please ask. We can't help you if we don't know what you need. Be sure to register for the new letter here, as I plan to have a few lessons in there. The fist lesson will, I think, be in the next letter. Not sure just how many lessons there will be, but I know there will be several. ------------------
  11. Sounds great Peggy, and I am sure it will go just fine. You will have to let us know how things work out after the party. ------------------
  12. Becca, I hope you are able to take the classes this fall. They do a great job of teaching at those. I learned to make t-shirts at one of those classes, and made everyone in the family t-shirts. I have had a sewing machine avalible to me all my life. My mother had one when I was home. I didn't do a lot on it, just a little. I took 'Home Ec', in school, every year I could. I have had the one I have now for about 8 - 9 years now. I have made and have made several of the quilts on it along with curtains for some of our windows. Our dining room and living room is just one room with two windows. About 7 years ago, I was able to get some nice material for only $1.00 a yard. I took all they had. I made curtains for both large windows, picture and then another window with the material. Then, later, I was able to find something I liked for our bedroom so made the curtains for that room too. Will try to keep things rolling. Everyone will just have to let me know what they are looking for. Also, everyone needs to help, as I am no way an expert. I've been trying to get ahead of MM, and now I think I may have. ------------------
  13. You are very welcome, glad some of you are able to use the site. ------------------
  14. Such a great idea for your DD, Cat. Hope she wins a nice big First Place Blue with it. DH has always been a packrat and depends on what it is, I sometimes am too. I like to think of it as a 'collector'. ------------------
  15. Cookie, I am wondering if this is a rerun you are seeing. As they had it on earlier this year, in April or May. I watched it then, but didn't know it was on again. What day is it on this time? Also, what time? ------------------
  16. Right now, I don't think I would want any chickens in my house. I have 2 dogs and they are more than enough. I do know that we did have baby chicks in our basement many years ago for about 2 weeks, until we could get a place for them outside. From the basement, they were put in the garage and then we did get something else outside so they went out. When we had goats, we did bring one in for a few days as the mother wouldn't accept it. Ginger, I hope your DD gets a nice big Blue Ribbon. ------------------
  17. Fran has been under the weather, (flu), since she got home. She called me on the phone a couple times. We also talked yesterday for a few minutes on Yahoo. She should be feeling better today though, at least I hope she is. I will let her tell you all about her trip. ------------------
  18. Great to hear from you again, Homey. Wow, that is a lot of rain. Must be hard to do anything when it is like that. Glad you have gotten your letter writting cought up though. That is something I don't do much of. Just do more e-mailing. Sorry about your garden, hope things go better now. ------------------
  19. ((((((Karla)))))) You can rant and rave all you want to here, we will all listen. I know what you mean about noise, I don't like a lot of it eather. The neighbor turns his radio on and the base on full, I call and tell them to turn it down. But to have it go on for months like this, that is just terrible. The heat, has been bad all over I think. Do you have A/C on? That should help some with the dust I would think. I was so in hopes that your arm would be much better by now. I will continue to pray for you. Hope things get better soon. Now, for the BBQ, lets see, veggies and chips, with dips. Also a tray of fresh fruits too. ------------------
  20. Good morning and welcome to Mrs. S. JuneBug. Nice to meet you. Since it is morning, I brought in some muffins and coffeecake to start the day with. DH and I have been married almost 40 years now. We have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren. Some are in TX and some a bit closer. We don't get to see them as much as we would like. But that is the way it goes when children grow up and move away. Then, we have 2 dogs who think they are people. They are really to big to be house dogs, but that is another story. They were born in Dec. so couldn't leave them outside. ------------------
  21. Good morning, and welcome to Mrs. S. Carla, it is good that you found us again. Looking forward to seeing you post. DH and I will be married 40 years in September, we have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren. We have 2 dogs who think they are people. I've brought in some nice warm muffins and coffeecake to start the day with. ------------------
  22. I am so happy for you and your mom. Please give her an extra hug for me. I will keep praying for her. ------------------
  23. I don't know how much we got, but the sun came out and then it was raining again before late afternoon. It rained off and on all night, but has stopped for a while. We have needed this rain as our soil is mostly sand so the water is here one minute and gone the next, unless we get a downpour. ------------------
  24. You are welcome, Becca, glad you checked it out and it is something you can use. Wish that little boy a 'Happy Birthday' for me, please. Hope he has a great day. ------------------
  25. Good to see you here Shi-anne. Thanks for posting. How are things at your home? ------------------
