  1. Seriously,

Rabbit with sour cream and dried cherries

2 wild rabbits, cut into serving pieces

    4 bay leaves

    1 1/2 c sour cream

1 quart chicken gravy or stock

    pepper

    flour, to dredge

    1/2 c cherry schnapps

    1 c dried cherries

    1 medium onion, diced finely

    2 cloves garlic, diced finely

Dredge rabbit in flour and brown in batches.

Saute onions, garlic. Add cherries and schnapps. Cook for a couple of minutes then add rabbit, gravy/stock, pepper, sour cream, and bay leaves.

Bake at 350 for about 1-1 1/2 hours or until tender. Try serving with noodles.

  2. Morning Everyone. Hope everyone is doing well, especially those in the midwest. We have snow here, but we were on the very fringe of that big storm. It's 7 degrees, but feels like 7 below this morning. I have to get some last minute baking done for tomorrow, otherwise everything is ready. Everyone take care, keep warm, and have a wonderfully blessed day.

  3. Quilties and Sas, I have family near you. An Aunt lives in Jackson,TN, and a cousin lives in Clarksville...he's on the police force there. Such a small world. We go to a family reunion every year in McNairy county. My father was born and raised between McNairy and Hardeman counties.

  4. Good morning everyone. Cat, hope your ankle is okay.

Here it is a whopping 0 degrees, with windchill it is -26. That is up from when I came into work at 6 a.m. Brrrrr.

The sun was trying to shine though and the snow is pretty. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

  5. Darlene, where did you say you lived and what time was dinner????

For Christmas we travel to family, about 100 miles, for the day. We have brunch with my family and then dinner with hubby's family.

    This year brunch is:

    Bagels with flavored cream cheese

Marcy's Breakfast Thing (it's kind of like quiche, hubby's sister thought this one up and it is wonderful).

Sausage gravy with homemade bisquits (sp)

    Bacon

    Juices

For dinner we opted to do snack type foods....sister-in-law is going to surprise us, but I was told to bring cookies and candies.... me... no problem... I can always do chocolate.

  6. Wow Westie.... Just a side note. One of the ladies I work with has a young son who is raising chickens. I buy eggs from her for $1.00 a dozen. He just wanted to give them away, but I told her no. He takes care of them, so he should profit somehow. His eggs are the best. When I'm running low, I just put in my order and in a couple days she will bring me all I want. You might be able to just put a sign by the road or let some of your friends know that you have eggs for sale.
