  1. That one looks good Miki. Think I'll try it soon. Thanks!
  2. Glad yall liked it. Did you add the coconut? It is good with or without it, I just like it better without.
  3. When my bf's cast iron gets crusty her dh lays them out in a trash fire and they come out looking like new. He usually calls to see if I want to bring mine over so he can 'burn' mine too. I do have to season them afterwards though. Mine are about ready for another burning, so maybe I will make a call.......(I have bought rusted ones from yard sales-- just cleaned them with brillo pads and reseasoned!) Never discard cast iron! I keep my 3 favorite skillets sitting onthe back of my stove because I use them almost every day. The rest I keep hanging within easy reach- I guess you can tell that I'm not a fancy decorator!LOL
  4. This time I'm hoping to post only 1 photo! From the left - 6 pints of Red Hot Pickles --then 10 pints of Violets Zucchini Relish -- 7 pints of Grandmother's Golden Relish (from Ball Complete) --and 11 pints of Canned Nerd's Cucumber Relish--(I have 1 pint of each one in the fridge) ...I also have 6 double batches of Cat's Frozen Cucumber Salad (minus 2 pint and a half boxes that I've already eaten)... and a double batch of Red Hot Pickles still soaking. Boy am I glad that this cucumber marathon is about over. Oh- I did give 1 1/2 bushels to a friend! P.S. Please notice in the background my new jar shelf that DH made me. It has 9 long shelves, but I still have boxes stuck in every available space! Thanks you guys for all your help. You are the best!
  5. I don't think my last reply made it so I'll try again. ANYHOW-- Thanks again mom11 for the fast reply. It sounds much more to my liking than the other ones I've found. I do have a silly sounding question that I've always wondered about. My family always got a thick cane syrup from a mill that we called molasses. And then there was a different one called "black strap" molasses. Can you describe what you are using in your beans?
  6. Hey MOM 11. What is "unbaked" baked beans? Is there a recipe somewhere that I missed? The vegetables and pickles have slowed down, so I think beans will be my next venture.
