ma & pa steel
I've heard this term and I am unsure what it means. I have one of those vacuum sealer things where you seal stuff in bags but how do you vacuum seal jars? In a canner? Link to comment
Guest Guest
only good for dried goods and only for things that you don't want to grow.. like if you plan on spouting wheat.. this is NOT what you want to do.. wash and dry jars... place rice in jar, place lid on jar and stick in the oven. Turn the oven on 170 and let jar say in oven about an hour. turn oven off and remove jars.. remember the jars are HOT! they will seal as they cool. ya mean like that kind of vaccuum seal or using the attachment that came with your vacuum sealer? grace
Some of the vac sealers come with an attachment that sucks the air out of your canning jars. Keeps the dry food freash. I know Tilia Kim Link to comment
