LivinSimple
I'm posting these recipes at the request of Ma Steel My mom gave me these recipes and I've tried all of them but the canned pickles. Refrigerator Pickles 7 cups pickles sliced rind on 1 cup sliced onions 1 cup white vinegar 2 cups sugar 1 Tbs. salt 2 tsp. celery salt Add pickles and onions into liquid, stir well. Put in the fridge. This will keep for months in the fridge. Freezer Pickles 2 quarts sliced onion and cucumbers 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cup white vinegar 2 Tbs. salt Slice cucumbers and onions and soak in salt water mixture (2 Tbs. salt and small amount of water) in the refrigerator for two hours. Drain cucumbers but do not rinse them. Mix sugar and vinegar well and add the cucumbers and onions to the mixture. Put in containers and freeze. Pickles 1 cup canning salt 1 quart white vinegar 3 quarts water Pickling spice Mix salt, vinegar and water and bring to a boil Pack cucumbers into canning jars and add pickling spice to the jar. Boil canning lids in water. Pour hot liquid in jars. Put lids and rings on. (This recipe does not call for any processing in a canner. I was told that as the liquid cools, the jars will seal. If a jar doesn't seal, put it in the fridge and use it first.) Link to comment

pa & ma steel
Woot I canned 10 pints of the pickles today. Hope they all seal. Will let you know how they turn out. By the way how long do they need to sit before they are ready to try? Thanks again for the recipes LS Link to comment
Darlene
I usually let my pickles sit for a month before I give away or break open...that gives them the time to truly absorb the flavors. Link to comment
