Grubby
Basic White Bread 1 lb loaf 2/3 cup lukewarm water 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon butter or oil 1 tablespoon sugar or honey 2 cups flour 2 tablespoons nonfat dry milk powder (optional) 1 teaspoon yeast Basic White Bread 2 lb. loaf 1-1/3 cups water 2 tablespoons butter 2 teaspoons salt 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons sugar 4 cups bread flour 2 tablespoons nonfat dry milk 1-1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast Place ingredients in bread pan in order listed or according to manufacturer's directions. I've had three machines and all the directions were the same start with water and end with yeast on top. Link to comment
lunamother
Lunamother's Breakfast Toast Bread 1 cup goatsmilk 2 tbsp local honey 1 tbsp real butter 1 free range chicken egg 2 cups unbleached flour 3/4 cup quaker oats 1/4 cup wheat germ 1 tsp salt 1 1/4 tsp yeast put in bread machine in the above order about midnight and set timer for bread to be done at 7am. Machine settings should be for 1 1/2# loaf, white bread, light crust. by the time you are done with chores and ready for coffee- this will be all warm and yummy. It does make a squattier denser type bread, but IMO that makes better toast. Link to comment
Shawna
This is my favorite bread machine recipe. I make all our loaves of bread and buns (like hamburger buns) with this recipe. Country White Bread 10 oz warm milk 1 egg 3 TBSP softened butter or margarine 1 1/2 tsp salt 4 cups bread flour 3 TBSP sugar 2 tsp yeast Throw in bread machine in order given. I just use the pasta/dough setting and take this out and put it in a 2 pound loaf pan and let it rise again and pop it in the oven on 375 degrees F. This same recipe will also make about 18-20 hamburger buns (I use a large tuna can as a cutter for the buns.....it comes out a really good size, just about what you get at the store). By far, this is my favorite! Shawna Link to comment
Grubby
Luna Mother: I love the description of your ingredients! Shawna: I'm going to have to try your recipe. I also like bun shapes, especially for sandwiches. Link to comment
