bluegrassmom
In my recipes to can fruit - not jellies or jams - but the actual fruit, the recipes call for a product called "Fresh Fruit" to keep the fruit from turning brown. Try as I might, I cannot find it. It's not the same thing as pectin is it? Where do I find this stuff? Link to comment
Nana
Actually, it's called 'Fruit Fresh' and you would (should) find it anywhere they sell canning supplies. It would be near the 'Sure Jel'. It's really nothing more than ascorbic acid- citric acid- vitamin C. If you can't find it, use lemon juice. Link to comment
Magpie
Lemon juice, lime juice, or grind up a vitamin C tablet and you are good to go. (Sad that more often I have the vitmin than the fresh juice!) Link to comment
arklatex
wal-mart sells it where I live. Its beside the sure jel, on the aisle with the sugar and spices Link to comment
