This, when put on a bandanna soaked in ice water, even WITHOUT the crystals, stays cool around your neck for a surprisingly long time, even when working out in the heat.

 

I'm thinking...in the Zeer pot...this stuff is ALCOHOL based...how would this react with the crystals? Or even with the sand/cool water mix? See where I'm going with this?? Sand plus cool/cold water plus some alcohol...would this alternative lower the temp in a Zeer pot further, or would it stay cold longer? Is it possible to use this in conjunction with the crystals? This is where I'd ask someone with a knowledge of chemistry...don't want any unintended results here.

 

Mt_Rider, this may be a backup alternative for you if your crystal pak fails???
