Since you all like sweets, and chocolate......

I have to share this little family tradition. It's almost that time of year to make it too.....

 

Around Christmas is usually when we've made this, but anytime will do. It's super simple.

 

heavy whipping cream, at least one pint, I always use two.

bag of peppermint candies

two boxes of Nabisco chocolate wafers

 

Whip the cream until it is firm and thick and stands up on its own.

 

grind the peppermints until they are powder. Add to the cream and mix thoroughly.

 

pour (yeah right, shovel) the mix into a breadpan or pyrex or whatever you want to use. It should be at least as thick as the chocolate wafers are tall.

 

Now add the wafers, vertically, back to back as tight as you want them. The more the better....

 

Now put it in the freezer until it's rock hard.

 

Slice and serve.

 

You'll just have to experiment with the peppermint to taste.

 

I suppose you could supplement anything else for the peppermint, but I've never tried. The peppermint and chocolate are an addicting combo.

I just used a blender. But now that I don't have a blender anymore since the fire, I guess a hammer will work just fine!

 

Or maybe a couple of rocks like the Indians used for corn,,,,,,
