OK- man or woman-

 

The steam is escaping out the vent pipe but also arounf the handle area- should I open canner and re- put on the lid- this steam should not be comming out near handle right????

There is a ???? -something in the handle on the side that is leeking steam- it moves - a little piece in the handle on the lid.... that is where the steam is escaping.....

When mine leaks, I let the steam go down, remove the lid, adjust the gasket and try again.

The small thing in the handle goes to a small button (lookes like a nail head) on the lid that moves up and down -

 

well it (steam) just stoped coming out handle??? I put weight on and I guess I will see what happens...????

Thanks Verginia- I did this twice -maybe that's what helped...

By the way, even a new gasket can do this sometimes, but an old one that is drying out is more likely to do that.
