so what does everyone think about this--these would be great if they are safe!!!

Yah, if they were considered safe. Big operation they have. Postal mail orders only and they make you pay for credit card fees too. I think I will wait until the USDA/NCHFP approves the use of them, but of course people will use them. We love those too-good-to-be-true items/offers.

the thing that gets me is their site says they are usda approved----I don't know how you check on something like that

The are a joke. Still have to buy their rubber gaskets.... these are nothing really more than the old outdated rubber rings folks used to have to rely on.

You won't save any money with them. Plus, you would have seal failures. Never reuse a lid.

No, they are NOT USDA approved. We only recommend the two piece metal lids with the attached gasket and the metal rings.

thanks guys--i am always hoping for some reusable ones!!! violet--how do I go about finding out about the usda thing when i see it on something? is there a web site or something you can check--just wondering for future info?

USDA Website is always a good place to go, but its not really designed upfront for our tiny issues. I would watch the National Center for Home Food Preservation website, but you will still probably get the facts first right here.
