Cat
Last Monday Mom & I had a check-up and ordered new glasses. Picked them up Saturday - CHECK! Thursday I had a check-up at the dentist because my bad tooth flared up and the pain wouldn't quit. Had full x-rays and scheduled a root canal. It got worse by Friday and my dentist referred me to a specialist to get it done faster and by an expert, since it was worse than he usually dealt with. Monday (today) root canal... CHECK! Had the oil changed on the car today since I'm driving much more taking care of the grandson, and found out that the tires are bad enough that the tread bars are showing. Oil change... CHECK! Need a full set of tires... **create check box here** Head cold has improved some, which I'm grateful for. Two weeks ago I was telling somebody how grateful I was that we had only about a thousand dollars to pay and our second-to-last credit card bill would be paid... hopefully by January 1. Then we will go for paying off the last one and try to hit it *hard*. Of course, that's when: glasses - $180 dentist with full x-rays - $150 plus more for crown, etc. to come (total was going to be about $2000 before specialist) antibiotic prescription - $60 Dental specialist - $980 oil change - $37 tires to come - approximately $250 to $400 I know God has a sense of humor. And I know His plans are not our plans. We are blessed, because neither DH nor I are on some of the expensive medications many of our friends use. In fact, we had to pay full price for the antibiotic because we haven't paid the deductible this year. That is truly a blessing. And DH has been keeping an "emergency fund" that will help with some of this... a blessing to have his foresight working for us. We had the cash for the glasses total. The dentists will work with us on payments. Another blessing. We haven't yet had bad weather where the tires would be dangerous, and finding out now will help me to be extra cautious until we get the tires. I needed the oil change *now*, and they found the extra wear on the tires... another blessing. And hopefully in a couple of weeks we will receive some kind of a bonus from DH's work, and if it is a nice one, it may take care of much of these things. So there... blessings and hope for the future. OH... and a very sore jaw tonight... **reaching for the Ibuprofen...** Link to comment

Amishway Homesteaders
But on the good side............................... You WERE able to get all this done, pay for most of it and STILL be in a happy mood - check. Time will come when you are out of debt and have money set aside for things like this. But for now you are doing the best that you can - good job! Link to comment
