Black Walnuts

What is the best way to get those green hulls off other than running over them with a car? That makes a mess and then we have to pick them up again and with bad backs thats hard to do.

Ugh, those are a mess. When I hulled mine I used my two feet. Sort of mashing them between my two shoes and picking up the nut wearing rubber gloves. Heavy old boots would work. Maybe boots reserved for walnut stompin' because they will be ruined for anything else.

 

Do not wear tennis shoes! I had black feet for days.

 

For picking them up how about one of those dustpans with a long handle and a broom? Something like this:
