out_of_the_ordinary
First of all, thank you to Violet for taking time to answer questions and help us do things safely! It is appreciated! Violet, which canning books do you recommend? It seems like there are a lot of them out there! It also seems there are ones with unsafe recipes and canning practices. Since I've been on Mrs. S., I think you've mentioned: the Ball book Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving So Easy to Preserve (also the UGA site) Any other books? Any you strongly recommend staying away from? Link to comment
Violet
Small Batch Preserving by Ellie Topp is really good. Then, most of the recipes in Blue Ribbon Preserves are safe, but there are a few in there that are not. The Joy of Cooking books on canning are fine. I will have to think on the ones to stay away from.. Too tired to think well tonight. Oh, Williams Sonoma is one of the worst !! Link to comment
