ScrubbieLady
Wierd but I didn't know how to word it. I made some crab apple jelly and plum jelly today. The crab apple takes 5C of juice and 7C of sugar. I wound up with 9 jelly jars. The plum takes 5 1/2C of juice and 7 1/2C of sugar. I would up with 10 jars. Now, here is the question. I talked to my friend and she said that USING THE SAME RECIPE she only got 5 jelly jars. Mine has set up just fine and looks great. Sealed quickly. But, am I doing something wrong to have so much more than she does from the same recipe? Quote Link to comment
Virginia
No idea, except to say that anytime I made jelly, the outcome never matched the chart??? Quote Link to comment

ScrubbieLady
We were using crabapples from the same tree (we picked together). The plums were from my trees for both batches. BUT, we used the same quantity of juice. And mine set up beautifully. Quote Link to comment
Violet
She may have cooked hers longer or faster, and evaporated more of the juice. Quote Link to comment
