WormGuy
I am trying to learn more about herbs but I have no clue as to what books to get. There are 599 books listed at Amazon. I have looked at all of the post here are there are quite a few good ones but I want more, I'm greedy Can anyone tell me where to start? John Quote Link to comment
Amishway Homesteaders
where to start? No Libraries near you? I always try and get the book to 'borrow' first in case it is not that great or if there are only a few pages that I want I make copies of and save money by not having to buy a book that I only find 1 or 2 things worth aving. kappydell
Mrs Grieve's Herbal is available (free) on line. A relatively (at least in the 20th century!) english herbal, excellent and has recipes here and there. The libraries usually have several. Look for one that is fairly recent. You might also see if they carry the magazine 'Herbs for Health' for the most recent research info. Edited September 1, 2012 by kappydell Quote Link to comment

TheCG
I like this one: http://www.amazon.com/The-Herbal-Medicine-Makers-Handbook-Manual/dp/0895949903/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346513897&sr=8-1&keywords=herb+maker%27s+handbook It tends to go through things step-by-step-by-step, but he also talks too much at times. I actually have it in paperback and on my Kindle. Quote Link to comment
