"The Riot Act" by someone? Ever wonder where the term came from??

This Guy

Henry Sacheverell: In a nut shell he wrote a couple of sermons that the Catholic church was not fond of. He was tried, suspended and the sermons burned. The people rioted (Sacheverell riots) which lead to the passing of a law called, "The Riot Act".

Turns out, Sir Henry Sacheverell is my 15th Great Grand Father. Looks like we have a long line of speaking up for what we believe! How COOL is that!!

We thought so. So far I've traced one line back to the late 900s. It's a lot easier when you have "Sirs" and "Lords" and Barons" because they kept the lists even then!
