  1. Actually the reason I am thinking about selling on eBay is the value of the things I want to sell. I have been looking them up. Now, I am watching the auctions or buy it nows to see if they actually sell.

Somethings I really wonder about. I have something that is currently listed on Amazon in worse shape than the one I have and it is listed for over $500. I am waiting to see if it sells. I sold on eBay some time back but am not sure I like the way it is going. It was originally set up to be a venue to sell but it seems to have changed to you are almost a commission sales person. To me, a venue provides the service and then leaves you alone unless you do something fraudulent. Well, it desn't seem that way now. I am a little nervous about giving eBay and PayPal access to my bank account and not too sure about someone else making the decision to refund money and I have no say (at least that is what I have been told is the current policy).

  2. Things have changes and some for the better.

We like paypal as it gets you the money fast!

easy to move into your bank account or from bank to paypal.

Yes no more bad feedback as that was one thing getting out of hand.

Give it a try again and see what 'you think' about it, just watch the shipping fees (USPS) as they have gone up and IF you want to make money get the right amount for it.

    Have fun!

Well, I have heard that paypal is also a fast easy way to have your money go from bank to paypal back to the buyer due to some of the changes in policies. I have things that won't probably sell locally but are worth a little bit (at least the same item listed on eBay or Amazon seem to be). I did sell a bit on eBay back a ways but the almost requirement that you use Paypal is why I stopped.

I know about shipping fees. I deal with USPS shipping out Scrubbies. Scrubbies are very lightweight but take up space so I get clobbered for that. Scrubbies will not be something I try to sell on eBay.

I understood that the restriction on bad feedback was one sided (only buyers could contribute bad feedback, is that incorrect?).

Thanks for the info. I'll let you know what happens.

  3. Make some fresh lemonade or limeade with honey to sweeten and a pinch of ginger. Have them sip it hot, like Russian Tea. This will reduce gagging a lot, and will cut the buildup of gunk on the back of the throat.

    Salt water gargles are good.

Boric acid wash is good for the eyes. Grasp the lashes gently and lift the lid away from the eyeball, and drop a little of the wash into the pocket so formed. This will keep the lid from squee-geeing the stuff off the ball before it has a chance to work.

Sponging them down with room-temperature water will cool them without driving the heat inward.

If they have gunk building up in the throat, you should consider holding off on any chocolate or milk until it's gone. As far as I've seen, milk makes the spit thicker.

Any type of warm drink will help with breaking things up and getting them cleared up.

You should restrict any dairy products. It does make the mucus thicker and that just adds to the problem.

  4. Actually, the coupons I have seen that list it show they get about 8 cents per coupon and they are sent to clearing houses. Their problem is that people that rely on coupons (I am not talking about those that misuse coupons) don't fall for the extras and that is where grocery stores make their most money.

  5. I was in a grocery store yesterday. It is part of an employee owned small chain of good local stores. Saw their coupon guidelines on the counter. No "extreme" couponing caught my eye. When I asked the cashier said that that meant they wouldn't let you use more than one coupon per product, as in if you have a coupon for Gold Medal flour, you could only use one of them.

The other guidelines Included no "stacking", no free coupons, no coupons worth more than 50% of the product, and no shelf clearing. I don't use many coupons and really only buy meat from them so doesn't bother me but it did seem kind of extreme.

  6. A dead, dry deep freezer is good for storing feed in. Litlle and large visitors can't get to it or chew into it. (we have very hungry squirrels around here, they have chewed into more than one plastic barrel).

Why can't new ones go into the garage?

  7. Hi Gardengabber

--Personally I HATE*HATE*HATE my freezer section of my fridge. A whole upright freezer might be a different story. But I can't keep anything from sliding out the door. I sometimes have to duct tape the door shut. I think the house is leaning towards the freezer door. Everything is packaged in slippery plastic bags now. :banghead: It takes me forever to unload and try to load all that frosted, freeeezing cold stuff again and again until I acheive BALANCE. :motz_6:

I think I'd love a bottom drawer freezer on a fridge.

I have a bottom freezer on my fridge. Love it. The door opens but there is a wire basket inside or I would have things falling out everytime I opened the door.

Have you checked to see if your fridge is level? Sometimes, that causes a door to stay open or open wider.

  8. We have been going through and clearing out etc. I have come up with some stuff that my grown son doesn't want anymore and, after looking on eBay, some of it is a little more valuable than selling in a yard sale.

So, I am debating going back to eBay. I quit a few years ago after it seemed to change its direction.

    Are you selling?

What do you think of the present day eBay?

I have heard that PayPal is pretty much a requirement. Is that true? What your experiences with PayPal?

I have heard that they changed the feedback rules so that sellers cannot warn other sellers about problem buyers? Is that true?

I would appreciate any thoughts that might help me decide one way or the other.

  9. I have had both and though it may be easier to find something in an

upright , it is not near as efficient as a chest type. You can also

put more in a chest type of the same size.

Should the electricity go off you can pile quilts, rugs, a lot easier

on a chest than an upright. You can also unknowingly leave the door

ajar on an upright wasting electricity and food.

These are the reasons I have a chest freezer now. I have had an upright and the chest, for me, is a lot better.

  10. If you get an antenna and live within 20 or so miles of the tv station, you might be able to pick it up. I had gotten a digital antenna to try and get rid of satellite, but I live just far enough that it didn't work well. Our internet doesn't work well sometimes either so going down to just Internet tv didn't work either.

We have a digital antenna and we are 35 miles from most of the area stations. We get them very well. Try aiming it a little different. When we set ours up, hubby stayed on the roof and I watched the TV for the main station until it got a good picture. We have rescanned more than once to get it better and to add stations.

  11. A couple of weeks ago, we were in Mississippi and the Fred's Dollar stores had Peter Pan PB on clearance for 50 cents a 13 oz jar. Does not expire til mid 2012. I am guessing they are not going to carry that brand anymore.

    I love a good bargain.

Fred's has some pretty good sales. You can check at fredsinc.com to see if there is one near you. I know there are some in AR but you'll have to see if they are near you. I get my canning jars and lids from them. Golden Harvest brand. Best prices I have found.
