  1. Kewl Kappy! I'm up in north Georgia in the Blue Ridge mountains Flowy has slowed down and downgraded its intensity. We're still in the cone for rains and I'm sure lower winds, which is fine. Not worried about flooding so I'm feeling optimistic.
  2. Thanks everyone...I just looked at the news and Flowy is down to 110mph which is a good thing! Kappy, where in GA are you? It's exciting to know that there's another MrsS here in GA! Trim trees MtRider? Which ones? lol j/k...my son trimmed some around the house a few weeks ago but they are a very brittle variety that needs to be totally taken out. As I write this I just realized that water will be my concern...not for me, as much as for all the animals. Sheesh, need to figure out how to hook generator up to well pump that keeps all the automatic waterers going. Hopefully the downgrade in Flowy will be a good sign to all.
  3. 11 years ago I moved from Miami to a little farm in the Blue Ridge mountains. I was happiest about leaving hurricane season behind me, far far away. While I'm no longer on the coast, it appears that Hurricane Florence wants to visit, albeit a much downgraded hurricane by that point. I no longer live in concrete block housing and I have a ton of trees that could mess alot of things up so if you think about it, keep us in your prayers. Sheesh, it's aggravating to think about losing electricity, but there's no better way to prep than living through things like that in the past lol. And maybe, the Lord will place His hand to direct it in another direction (not that I want anyone to go through that kind of thing). THAT would be awesome
  4. I use the antibiotics alot with the animals here, as well as the family if needed. They've been a life and money saver many times.
  5. Well, I'm a diehard and did the traditional Thanksgiving dinner I've cooked for the past 30 years or more :). Turkey, stuffing, gravy, potato salad, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, buttered corn, desserts, etc. It's alot of work but as we ate dinner yesterday, each bite I took reminded me of how the holiday cooking is worth it because of how good it tastes. It took 2 days to get everything prepared but thankfully my girls were awesome sous chefs and made it all come together smoothly. It was actually the nicest Thanksgiving dinner I've done in a while. I pulled out my city girl china and set the table really pretty. We had some friends over so it was a wonderful time with family and friends. Today, however, I'm sitting on the couch trying to get a fire going in the wood stove (nothing new there lol...I'm fire challenged). Leftovers will rule the day and I'll decompress over the weekend. I hope everyone, regardless of the meals they prepared, had a very blessed Thanksgiving
  6. Sheesh Wormie, I'm so sorry. I'll be praying for both of you.
  7. Out of curiosity, what's different? I wouldn't think that just changing servers would have changed the message board, but then again, what do I know? That's why we have our little Miss Annarchy who knows all things techy lolol
  8. If I remember correctly Vic, Annarchy and I discussed doing that but it would have been an incredibly laborious job...and then the question arose, "Which ones do we archive or not?" so we decided to just move the whole kit and caboodle!
  9. Yeah, never a dull moment around here. We had used GoDaddy to host our site for many, many years. Yesterday, I got an email saying that we were over our quota so they had turned off our site. There was no warning, no notice, they just turned it off. I got ahold of Annarchy and she called them but they were unwilling to work with us at all. They wouldn't let us upgrade our package or anything except spent $1500/month on a dedicated server that would have had nobody else but us on it. Forget that. Thankfully, the people that designed our message board program also have hosting packages so we decided to move MrsS to a new server with a new company. The good news is that instead of only having 1gb allowance, we now have 5gb allowance so we have plenty of room to grow. Sorry about the site interruption, but as I said, we had no fore warning and no time to let anyone know before they shut the site down. A very special and heartfelt thank you to Annarchy for always getting us through these rough spots. Hopefully, all the hassels we've had with GoDaddy in the past are over for her. It feels so good to have MrsS back online
  10. I have experienced the appliance issues too. Mine did not survive as long as yours did, but I had to live for 6 months last year without a refrigerator. I dumped $700 trying to fix it and finally gave up. I didn't have the money to replace it and then my stove went on the blitz and that put me over the edge. Thankfully, the stove issue was a bad outlet and when my parents found out about the fridge, they purchased one for me. Humbling times are always difficult to bare. I'll be praying for you.
  11. She's either your worst nightmare or your best friend lolol. SWAT!!!
  12. *sheesh*...I scared myself there for a minute. Thanks so much! lolol
  13. I talked with Annarchy this morning and she will be helping me do some spring cleaning here at MrsS. I'd like to condense some of the forums (not losing any, just making everything more streamlined) and give the site a 'fresh coat of paint'. Once we figure out how we're going to re-organize everything, if you come in during the middle of 'construction', please don't be dismayed. I promise the work we'll be doing will streamline and be easy to continue to navigate. Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know before we started so that it didn't surprise everyone once we get started.
  14. I was browsing around the control panel today, just checking things out, innocently clicking here and there and before I know it, I think I accidently changed the background colors. It's not that I don't like it better than the blue, and I don't know if it's permanent, but I have no idea what I've done or how I did it...sheesh lol I want to update MrsS but not like this so please be patient while Annarchy rescues me lolol

  16. Yayyyyyy...thank you so much Annarchy!
  17. We're still working on it, or should I say poor Annarchy is dealing with the headache of it all. She had to pay our server people to move the site to the new server because it wasn't working properly when she tried to do it. They've told her 7-10 days they'd have it done. Makes me mad...why pay money if you have to wait so long. Unbelieveable.
  18. I think we hit a glitch moving the site to the new server. Annarchy is working on this and understands better than I do, the details so we'll hang in there until she gets it all handled! Thanks so much for your patience.
  19. We'd be lost without Annarchy (((((annarchy)))))
  20. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!
  21. That really annoys me with Google Annarchy. I didn't realize that all the other search engines have us clear. I dislike google immensely. sheesh Anyway, we're going to upgrade our server and Annarchy will thankfully handle the tech stuff. Once she gets that handled and we get back up online (it can take up to 24 hours to propogate the new server ID around the world), we'll get our beloved Annarchy to upgrade our message board and then hopefully we'll be done with all these issues, at least for a while. Give A a hug next time you run into her...I'd be lost without her ((((annarchy))))
  22. I wanted to give everyone an update I've been talking with Annarchy about this deceptive site warning everyone is getting, trying to figure out exactly what we need to do to get the site up and running normally again. She's had some suggestions and I've checked into other things but we should be making a decision in the next few days. I'm so sorry this is happening to everyone and I pray we'll be able to get this fixed soon.
  23. Suddenly a helicopter hovers over head as a rope ladder is thrown out the side. It unfolds right in front of MtRider. She contemplates "horse...heli...horse...heli" when suddenly she notices some movement coming towards her. MtRider jumps on the ladder and....
