  1. Cheesecake? You want cheesecake?!?!?!?!? Are you a cat or a mouse ????? Here's a nice BIG helping of chocolate covered salmon-EVERYTHING tastes good with chocolate on it-right?!?!?!?!?!?!? ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."
  2. Dar-it could be cause it kinda duplicates "From the Heart" (or whatever the name of the other forum is ) Maybe a little bit of clarification might be in order??? Edited: Ok- I went back and found out the "proper" name of the aforementioned forum - "Where the Heart Is."] ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother." 3. Hey Snow- Lard and butter are fine-it's the flour in the crust and the sugar in the filling that are the "problem." BTW-the humble egg has been exonerated of causing cholesterol problems, BUT, the hydrogenated oils in the Crisco ARE a problem. Soooooooooooooooooo.......if you were going to bake a pie- -use the lard, go easy on the added sugar, and eat a small slice. (easier said than done) ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."

  8. OK-got my hand in the "Cookie Jar" : ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."
  9. Momo- Sounds kinda like an Atkins/Somersize cross--would that be an "Atsize" or a "Somerkin" diet!?!?!?!?!? (The Somer-part is the fruit, the At-part is that you aren't following the food combination aspect of the Somer-part. Actually, it sounds more like the traditional maintainence part of the Atkins diet.) Did you grow your own cantalope???
  10. Right Snow! You work on the left side and I'll keep chipping away here on the right!!!
  11. {{{{{{Dar}}}}}} ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."

  13. Excerpted from "Soy Story" HOW MUCH IS DANGEROUS? For Adults A glass a day melts the thyroid away. From USA Woman's World, Mar 16 2001. AVOIDING SOY .... As little as 30mg of soy isoflavones--the amount in 5-8 ounces of soymilk - have been proven to suppress thyroid function. "The isoflavones in soy act like a hormone in the body. And in many women, especially those who eat large amounts of concentrated soy powder or take isoflavone supplements, this disturbs the body's hormonal balance, triggering or worsening thyroid problems," explains Dr. Larian Gillespie, author of "The Goddess Diet". Some experts are even calling for the makers of soy products to remove these antithyroid isoflavones from their products. Soy protein has been assessed by the Australia/New Zealand Food Authority as posing potential hazards to consumers as to sexual maturation, sexual differences, foetal and neonatal brain development, and to thyroid function of children and adults (ANZFA)

  15. Yo-goosie--have you peeked in on the other threads about soy????? Mentions it in one of the other ones.
  16. Ginger- Look for a protein drink made with whey(milk) protein isolate-NOT soy protein isolate. See my other posts to find out why. ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."

  18. While the scientific research on soy is still emerging and is often contradictory, there are now some serious questions being raised about this miracle food, and some of its staunchest defenders acknowledge that these questions need to be answered. A 20/20 investigation. ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."
  19. "...when we do hear about soy, it is usually in praise of all its benefits but perhaps we should look a little deeper before becoming too comfortable with this new 'wonder food'." Another article about soy-read it here: Soy Story. ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."
  20. - very big business. This is not your father's soybean. Read the whole article here: The Shadow of Soy or, How I stopped loving and learned to worry about the bean. By Sean Carson ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."
  21. Welcome "newbies" who really aren't newbies! Don't be shy-come on down-you're the next contestant to be showered with sunshine..... It begins with Cat's tea cart full of scrumptious, delicious goodies. I'm sure somebody else will be along with other goodies-in the meantime-enjoy some of this refreshing iced tea I have . Next, Dar builds elaborate castles in that wonderful Miami sand while Cookie encourages her to build higher and wider. Ed will probably bring somes tools from the shop to help, Da Boss along, but Dar will insist on doing it all by hand. (So Ed will take a "time out" and enjoy his brew. ) But we have to be careful to not make too much noise, or we will wake Spit up from her much needed nap. If that happens, she will probably come whirling through here, and in all the excitement, she might knock that beautiful sand castle down to the ground. So you see-ALL newbies are "winners" at MrsS!!!! ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."
  22. Called Animal Control once we got home-they picked up the carcass. I hope it had some kind of ID on it so they could notify the owners.
  23. Hey lynnie- Spit is *out cold* , but that cranberry stuff sure smells good-keep on rubbing!!! (It's a good thing it's nowhere near Thanksgiving or "da boss" {Darlene} might mistake her for a roasted turkey with cranberry stuffing)!!!!!!
  24. Lynnie- This is a brand new server for this site-it has only been here for a few weeks. The information and chat room from the previous site has to be "reconstructed" here-so it going to take time-that is why you see the explanation on the other paages ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."
  25. Saw a dead dog by the side of the road this morning---poor thing Somebody is going to be very sad today (it had a collar)---but what was it doing on the freeway??? ------------------ "Sooner or later everyone quotes their mother."
