My dad potted a "crown of thorns" plant and put it in our living room when my cat started using houseplants as a litterbox. The cat stopped going near plants after that. :-D

Oh, I saw one of those at whole foods for $15. Maybe I'll try to find one cheaper.

Is the All American 910 too small to be practical? I don't see myself pressure canning *that* much at a time. Or will things change once I use a pressure canner and get used to it? I have to admit, I'm skeered to pressure can. my mom blew up a pressure cooker once when I was a kid (early 70's, I know, different kind of pressure canner...)

I bet they can't take the chance of giving expired baby formula to someone. If the baby got sick, they could get sued. If you really want to make sure it gets a good home, go to a food bank when they have open hours, and wait outside and offer it to the first person you see with an infant.
