  1. Please consider that those are very low to the ground and might be difficult to get up from - unless you have grab bars - and even then it still might be difficult.
  2. I guess I'm pretty forunate to live in a "small" town. The shop I take my car to will give me a ride home if they have to keep the car, then pick me up when it's ready. If they need to keep it for a few days and I know I will be needing to get myself somewhere, they have free loaner cars! And their labor prices are very reasonable, too.
  3. Isn't a "smart phone" and an "Android" the same thing? Isn't "Android" the platform a "smart phone" uses??? Radiant Max 5G from AT&T
  4. My cell phone is mostly a camera, then a few store apps, and sometimes use the text feature to "talk" to my son. But, the main reason I got a "smart" phone to replace the little flip-phone that I had was because a game I used to be able to play on my computer through FB's gaming platform, left the FB platform because there were too many bugs and glitches happening and the players were pounding on the game's developers to fix what was actually FB's responsibilty to fix but they weren't! Anyway, since I don't use it as a "phone" (most of the time) I do not have the ringer turned on so I would not be able to find a "lost" phone that way. But I did have to replace that phone back in Aug/Sept because the charging port wasn't working, and the model of phone I had could not be charged by placing it on a charging platform instead of using the cable. However, it was that time of the year when everything was on sale for "back to school" needs - including cell phones. I went on the AT&T site and found a slightly newer model of the phone I had and got it on sale for a very reasonable price! I took it to the local AT&T store and they helped by moving the sim card over, but, unfortunately we were not able to transfer the info on the old/broken phone over to the new one. Soooooooooooooooo.................... I am right in there with you ladies who have recently had to re-enter all kinds of data - phone numbers, etc - into a new phone. What a PITA it is having to do that! But, it is done! However, I keep finding that I have to add contacts and phone numbers that I had forgotten were in the old phone. I think we may be all caught up now, but I wouldn't put a bet on it as a sure thing!
  5. Good eye! Once I put the blue trucks out everything looked "off balance." So (and Jeepers will appreciate this) I "restored" the color balance by putting the red and green candy canes with the red and green Christmas trees, and all was right with the world again.
  6. I was innocently sitting at my computer a week or so ago when I heard a chirp/tone that I wasn't familiar with. I thought it was my cell phone trying to get my attention to deliver an alert of some kind, but I could not find and indication of it, so I did what any normal person (whoever said I was "normal") would do, I called the phone company and asked what setting(s) need to be changed/adjusted. As I was talking to the rep, the tone sounded again and I asked him if he could hear it. "Yes," he said, he could, BUT it did not sound like a telephone alert. It sounded more like a smoke detector or a carbon monoxide alarm. He was correct! But, the thing is, this apt is all electric! I notified maintenance and found out that there had been a rash of the batteries in these devices going bad. They replaced all of the units in all of the apts - not because any appliances are gas, but because the apts are federally subsidized and they had to meet requirements. Anyway, that is my little misadventure with safety alarms.
  7. Round Three What are the differences between Garden3 and Garden4? #3 #4
  8. I've been "brewing" vanilla since June of 2023. Just funneled it into the bottles tonight - two 2oz bottles and all the "used" beans are now cozy together in a larger bottle to make a second round. I'm not really sure WHY I did this as I don't do a whole lot of baking, but now I have it as a back-up to the store bought brands (which are NOT artificial vanilla or vanilla flavoring!) I know it's past Christmas, but I might just bake up some "sugar cookies" anyway just so I can use the vanilla! George Strait and Phil Robertson
  9. It is officially midnight here on the left coast. Goodbye 2023........................................ hello 2024.
  10. Welcome home Cat! Just in time for the New Year's party too.
  11. If anything ever deserved to be pushed off of a shelf and out of the way it was this last year! Here's hoping for a better year for all of us!
  12. Patriot Nurse says it is the latest C o v i d variation. Here's the title so you can look it up if you are interested. "JN1 Variant Unveiled: COVID's Next Dark Winter?"
  13. Did you see all of the "prizes?" I would like to "win" the steam canner. Having the pressure canner would be nice, but I had ordered a larger canner soI could stack pint jars in 2 levels, but that thing was a BEAST! I could barely get it out of the box and had a very difficult time getting the empty canner onto the stovetop so I sent it back. The ForJars one allows for double stacking but is still only 32Qts, but I think it would be too tall for me to handle. Plus, I am not sure it would fit under the stove hood on my range - so, if I win and get a choice, it will be the steam canner.
  14. Just saw this one over on Sutton's Daze and am planning to make a batch!
  15. Unlike you, I am not a Stones' fan. But I will look it up and have a listen..............just for you! The drums in that song have a hard driving beat all right! They covered up almost every other sound except for the SITAR, and of course Mick - but he had his own microphone! The drums did have a fuller, richer sound with the headphones rather than the "tinny" sound they had without them. Almost as if the beat was reaching out and surrounding/hugging them as they performed.
  16. Found this when looking for "Paint it Black." click Watch it on YT then save the link so you can listen whenever you need a "fix." ETA: Despite what the title of the vid says, there are only 10 songs on the album.
  17. @Jeepers In the meantime here are two live performances for you to enjoy - one in 1966 and the other one in 2006
  18. Unlike you, I am not a Stones' fan. But I will look it up and have a listen..............just for you!
  19. All along I've been trying to imagine what you were talking about in giving him a "box full of butterflies." Now I understand. The only thing I could imagine up to this point was when Prince Edvar gave Paige a room full of Monarch butterflies in the movie, "The Prince and Me."
  20. I would be very interested in reading your review (of whatever is was that you bought). Maybe it will convince me to buy one too! (of whatever is was that you bought) I went to the local "senior center" for Christmas dinner. Not that I didn't have anything here to eat but just for a change of pace. This is the first holiday dinner they have served since the whole "stay 6ft apart" situation ended. I knew there wouldn't be a lot there that I could eat so I packed a "goodie bag" for myself with a Caesar salad, some home-fermented giardinaria, some cranberry jello, and, of course, a Diet Coke! I got some of the turkey, a tiny bit of dressing, and some gravy, along with some ham and green beans. Got a "take home" container stuffed with ham and green beans, so the ham that is sitting in the fridge is going to find its way into the freezer - for now. Just been sitting here watching (free) movies on YT. I intended to watch a performance of Handel's Messiah on the new headphones my son sent mr for Christmas, but I think I will save that event for tomorrow. (Tehy arrived in a typical Amazon box, but they were "gift wrapped" in this linen bag. (Little does my son know he is getting the bag back on his birthday in January. (NO. I won't be empty!) This is a bluegrass Christmas medley performed by the Navy Band. I was both surprised and pleased to be able to HEAR the Bass line in this song! These headphones are great!
  21. Round Three coming up in a few days. Gotta give the rest of the members a chance to play also.
  22. Are you ready for ROUND TWO??? Can you spot the difference(s) between Garden Two ... And Garden Three??? Name the differences in a reply post.
