  1. Cat and everyone. I know what you mean about expensive care. Since Old Pine has retired we are paying more and more for medication and now we drive about 80 miles to a Costco to get our eyes checked. Yes, it is less expensive to do that then to get it done in town. Sad, isn't it.
  2. I'm glad you are where you can get to a LDS library, we are miles from one. Good luck in your finding what happened to your DH's great grandfather. There are several of us interested in genealogy in my extended family and there are still questions about my great-great-grandfather Jones. I wonder if we will ever find out more about this man.
  3. I just added Trudy, Pauline, and Christy to the list. Glad you are all joining. Trudy, please send me your address so I can put it with the others. Thanks.
  4. I wanted to let you all know how I came out at the County Fair this year so here goes. You will need to go to the Gallery to see the pictures as it wouldn't let me post them in here. I tired a few times and then went to the Gallery then had to do it a second or third time so I just started posting the pictures as they are in my pictures. Enjoy. These are most of the herbs I took in, 5 in a box and 6 others. Any Other Herb. This is what a Lily looks like after 5 days at the fair. Small basket and all white. Artificial Floral and Fall. Holiday, Mug and Mini. Banana Bread and Muffins. Any Other Bread, Nut Bread and Pumpkin Bread. Loaf Bread and Rolls. Buns and Corn Bread, again this is what things look like after so long in the heat and with the humidity so high. Bars. Drop Cookies and No Bake Cookies. This year there were only 3 kinds of cookies you could make. Cake and Cupcakes. Jellies, the one came unsealed so I didn’t get a ribbon on it. I went down and found a lot of other jelly that had come unsealed that we had just made within the last couple months before the fair. It has been so humid up here. Rhubarb Sauce, Spaghetti Sauce, Home Made Dish Soap, Tomatoes and Salsa. Beef, Turkey and Pork. Peanut Brittle, Peanut Butter Fudge and Hard Candy. There is a story behind the Hard Candy, I didn’t have enough flavoring in it so they couldn’t tell what kind it was. Plastic Canvas, the Kitchen Any Other and the Christmas Ornament. I did a Poster and I forgot to put the blue ribbon by it. Magnets and Any Other Craft. Life Style, Action and Candid pictures, the picture of the men golfing was taken from my deck. Four years ago this wouldn’t have happened. That fire three years ago took out so many trees and now we can watch them and they can see us. The rest of the pictures I took in and didn’t get a ribbon on these. In the one picture you see our dog, Minnie resting on the back of the love seat looking out the back window. She loves to watch the ground animals and birds out there. She wishes she could get to them too. The first one was Nature, Land Scape, City Scape, bottom row is Animal, I just had to put this one in as a Portrait. I was informed that it needed to be a person. These are the last two pictures, the Black and White and the Close Up. Then, since I am able to do it, I put some in the Senior Division. First is the Senior Loaf Bread, Any Kind of Jelly, Any Kind of Pantry and Any Kind of Cookie. The last picture is of the Senior Craft and Toy. I don’t think they liked that I put the soap in two places. I think that is everything I did. I have gone through the Fair Book and am trying to see just how many things I could take if I get them ready for next year. If I work real hard, I might have a lot more than this year. Had to add, there are 25 pictures or maybe 26 as I think there is one that is in there 2 times.
