  1. Brrr cold and windy Dee I want to see pics of the window quilts when you are done!
  2. That's so fun when you make a connection like that Great feeling too when you can help someone else!
  3. Missing that thumbs up icon LOL. The last couple of weeks I've been pretty quiet, mostly just working through the emotional turmoil I was feeling, and getting everything straight in my head. I wanted to let you know how very much your prayers and support have meant to me. Just knowing so many were lifting me up gave me strength when I felt I had none and made a huge difference for me! My DH has a councelling apt. for Wednesday with a man who my friend recommended. She is a psychologist and works with him and felt he would be someone my husband would feel comfortable with. My DH has also agreed to enter a 12 step program, which is amazing to me. There aren't any in our area, but he will be able to get help from an online group, so that is better than nothing. He and has been very willing to do everything I have asked him to do. I am fairly sure he has clinical depression, in addition to the problem with porn, but the councellor will be able to determine that more accurately. I have come to terms with the fact that in reality this really isn't a marriage problem, it is my DH's problems loving himself. He is trying to fill an emptiness inside that I cannot fix. He has to find some way on his own to heal the hurt from being emotionally neglected as a child. I can only love him and support his recovery. He has committed to taking those first steps and that is all I can ask. I still feel so much love and connection and I know he does too. Both of us have already grown so much together over the years, and there have been so many times he supported me while I worked through my own internal issues with learning to drive, and get over my social anxiety. He was patient and supportive and he deserves the same support and patience from me as long as he continues to genuinely try to recover from this addiction. I honestly feel he is willing to do the work. Anyhow I thought you would all like to know that there is a lot of progress in my house, and he has made an effort not only with this issue, but in other areas like helping more around the house, and I even got to go out last night to a concert with some friends without too much grumbling. Usually he would have really tried to guilt trip me into thinking it was too hard for him, but this time all he did was ask if I could get a babysitter to help. I knew he was worn out from all the stress we are under so I did, and he did great while I was gone. So that is immense progress

  8. Just goes to show you how slow my town is, I just went to go see that in the theater 2 wks ago and it's already out on video LOL! DH and I both loved it! We got about 4-5 inches of snow, not too bad to drive in they already have the roads clear. Not too cold either, so I don't mind.
  9. That's wonderful Hill Hope this buys you the time you need to find something permanent!
  10. That happened to me a few times, and then I realized what I was doing was looking at the preview of my post, not the post. Once I turned off the preview posts in my profile it stopped happening. You can still preview a post by checking the "I want to preview my post" box once you have turned off the automatic preview function. Clear as mud?! LOL
  11. {{{{{{{Bridgid and Pat}}}}} Praying the operation takes care of it!

    Hi All!

Welcome Willow! Happy you are joining us! How neat that you get to live right next door to your grandchild. I wish my parents lived nearby. I'm 31, married 12 yrs to my DH. We have 4 children and live in IA with our 3 cats.
  13. Well my house is old and drafty too, that's why I put up plastic every winter too keep my heating bills down LOL. Not going to bother out here for chemical protection in rural america. Now if I lived in a city I would. I am however making lists to see what i need to top off in my supplies, like more batteries, diapers in the current size etc. Not too much except a few first aid items liike bandaids the kids use like crazy anyways. I feel much better in general in the winter with some extra food on hand. Nice when we have a storm like tonight to know I have everything I need here already and I don't have to go out for anything. I filled 15 gal of water, need to refill one 5 gal collapsible container upstairs. I also need to update our evacuation plan and bug out bags. However I plan to stay here unless there is a train wreck or something. Much safer in my own home if you ask me! Anyhow Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
  14. How miserable! Had that happen once, took a few days and medicine for it to clear up. Sure was awful! I hope you feel all better quick!
  15. Yay! I hope he continues to improve quickly

    Hello again

Hey Paige glad you're posting And I hope there are other teenagers who decide to join you here!
  17. My mom located my great grandfather's first family in the 1880 census. Now I have all the names of all his first 5 children, instead of the 3 we knew, and confirmation on his wife's name. Her name is what lead me to the online goldmine that kicked off my journey into geneology. They had 1 daughter and 4 sons. 1 pair of twins! It also confirmed his middle initial for us. It's M not H after all. Now that I have a picture of him too it really is making him come to life for me. Amazing to think my great grandfather's first children were born 100 years before me. What a hard life he led whith 2 families, 10 children in all, settling in the wild west of Washington/Idaho right as the territory opened up. The apple orchards he helped start still grow apples and are cared for by his first families descendants. One of these days I will make a trip up there to look them up!
  18. DH would love that LOL He actually wanted to name Nicholas Charlegmange but I wouldn't have it LOL. He is my DH's favorite historical figure.
  19. Not losing too much sleep over this issue, since we are in a failrly rural area. If I lived in a city I'd be much more worried. I still have most of my Y2k non-food preps plus more that I have added. I rotated my water supply today so I feel much better. Have about 3 wks canned goods on hand so that probably covers what I can reasonably store at the level of preparedness I can afford right now. I keep adding a few cans every time I go shopping and make sure I have at least a month of other household supplies on hand. I will rest easier when warm weather comes. The big problem in my preparedness plans is the heating in my home, I have no way to safely add a backup. Now can anyone tell me how to get my DH to stop snoring! LOL!!
  20. {{{{{Cat}}}}} Sounds like strep throat with the headache and swelling. I'd get your throat swabbed. My DH is still recovering and he is having horrible problems sleeping and not breathing for about 6 seconds at a time. Makes it hard for me to sleep while he's gasping for air all night! I'm feeling a lot better physically and emotionally. Things get less painful every day and I think my DH is really really trying to make things right this time. I have been re-evaluating my food/water storage. DH says lots of people were buying up duct tape and plastic at Walmart last night and almost all the milk was gone. Seems like around here people are listening to the gov't recommendations. FInally it's o.k. to be prepared! I re-filled all my water containers today. There were a lot of them so I'm pretty tired. Not so cold today which was nice
