  1. For those of us on the Lo-carb lifestyle, I thought we could share and compare menu choices and inspire one another to stay on track. Today I had a 3 egg omelete with colby cheese, sauted mushrooms and broccoli. Drank 2 bottles of water, not with the meal of course. Not really sure what I'll have for lunch and dinner, I don't believe I'll be hungry for quite some time What have you all been eating? ------------------
  2. Hi all, I have lost 8 pounds since restarting the lo-carb lifestyle almost 2 weeks ago. I started mostly due to knowing that I should be eating this way to feel better healthwise and Dee K's awesome inspiration to motivate me. ((((Dee K))))) I feel great. The renewed enery is awesome. You won't know how truly good it is until you cut sugars/excess carbs out of your diet. I'm starting to get a little sick of eggs and such, and need to know what variety all you lo-carbers fill your days with to stay on track. If I know you, MidnightMom. you have dozens of ideas and recipes just waiting to be shared. I also liked it when we posted our daily menu's...maybe we can do that again? I'll start in another post. ------------------
  3. 4. ((((((DeeKay))))) You bet, we are taking this one day at a time. You are doing terrific. Don't look at the numbers on a scale, look at how wonderful you are feeling each and everyday. Physically, Mentally and Spiritually you are changing and blossoming into the sweetest rose!! All trials are indeed hard, and I know that weightloss and weightgain is indeed one of the hugest trials I have ever faced as a woman. Like Mt. Everest, losing weight is like a gigantic mountain to climb, but *CLIMB* we shall... one step at a time!! We are here for you. We are in this together...dear sweet sister!! You are loved much!! ------------------
  5. For lunch I had roast beef slices rolled up with colby cheese and a dab of miracle whip. Also some BBQ pork rinds...I still can't get over how guilty I feel about eating them?? For dinner I had a small antipasta salad with italian dressing. For a snack tonight, I am having sugar free jello with a dab of cool whip. And of course lots and lots of water All and all, another very good day!! ------------------

  11. ((((((Junebug)))))) I have no tried and true advise about teenagers. Having just went through DS's teen years, DH and I feel as if we have survived a war. Really! If you like you can email me at oneaglewings2000@yahoo.com Your DH is just emotionally shut down, its all he can do at the moment...please just be patient and don't forget he has needs. You may need to be the strong one for now until he can get his bearings. This can be a time of drawing together or not pulling apart. To win this war, the commanders have to be a united team. Take time away from the house to regroup and refocus. Once a week, DH and I used to pack a thermos of coffee and escape to our property to talk about our dreams and simply enjoy the breeze! Those were wonderful times...I can remember actually seeing the wrinkles smooth and disapear from DH's tense face. Also find time for yourself, doing things you enjoy like a class or a new hobbie. Read positive books to keep your spirit rejuvinated. Make a lunch date with a treasured friend...don't isolate yourself when you have needs, let others know. Is your DD or family in counseling?? It can do a world of good. So does prayer, I will be praying for your DD and your entire family. I don't know where we'd be without others praying for our family! Hang in there, it's just a season. I'm glad you shared your heart with us. This reminds me of when I started coming here and why I love this place so much. Blessings to you!! ------------------

    HEY DARLENE

Oh Darlene! The friends you have here are really something You are truly blessed, Girl!! Love and prayers, ------------------
  13. A dear friend recently gave me this powerful advise and it has stopped me from going down the wrong road of mixed up priorities. "Everytime you say YES outside the home, you are really saying NO to your family." This sentence has changed my priorities and I pray that I continue to say YES to my family and no to the outside world!! ------------------
  14. FAMILY Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think? So what is behind the story? Do you know what the word FAMILY means? FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU ****************************************** Someone sent this to me today. I thought it expressed in a very simplistic way; the powerful effect on the importance and priority of family. Don't work to hard in other places besides home. Enjoy your families today!! A FAMILY may come in all different sizes and variations...but the bond that holds people together is LOVE Blessings, ------------------

Mare, I have wanted to read this book!! I heard the 2 ladies, Dayna Curry and Heather Mercer interviewed by Doctor Dobson on the radio program, Focus On The Family. These 2 women are phenominal!! What an inspiration to us all!! I gotta get my hands on a copy of this book ------------------
  18. I discovered a wonderful lo-carb dessert that I just have to share. It's both satisfying and delicious!! 2 Tablespoons of Cool Whip Extra Creamy (2g of Carbs and 25 calories) and 3 Tablespoons of sunflower kernels (4g Carbs, Dietary fiber 2g, and 180 calories) Lets see if I did this right...check me on this Dee K?? This scrumptious dessert weighs in at 6g Carb, -2 for dietary fiber = walla.... 4g Carb. and 205 calories! I would never feel as though I am missing anything to eat this good!! Eating on this plan takes some creativity but its so worth it!! Today, I bought some sugar free jello mixes so I can have variety. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Ginger (edited July 31, 2002).] [This message has been edited by Ginger (edited July 31, 2002).]
  19. 3 cheers to women...... A man was sick and tired of going to work every day while his wife stayed home. He wanted her to see what he went through so he prayed: Dear Lord, I go to work every day and put in 8 hours while my wife merely stays at home. I want her to know what I go through, so please allow her body to switch with mine for a day Amen. God, in his infinite wisdom, granted the man's wish. The next morning, sure enough, the man awoke as a woman. He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate, awakened the kids, set out their school clothes, fed them breakfast, packed their lunches, drove them to school, came home and picked up the dry cleaning, took it to the cleaners and stopped at the bank to make a deposit, went grocery shopping, then drove home to put away the groceries, paid the bills and balance the check book. He cleaned the cat's litter box and bathed the dog. Then it was already 1pm and he hurried to make the beds, do the laundry, vacuum, dust, and sweep and mop the kitchen floor. Ran to the school to pick up the kids and got into an argument with them on the way home. Set out cookies and milk and got the kids organized to do their homework, then set up the ironing board and watched TV while he did the ironing. At 4:30 he began peeling potatoes and washing vegetables for salad, breaded the pork chops and snapped fresh beans for supper. After supper he cleaned the kitchen, ran the dishwasher, folded laundry, bathed the kids, and put them to bed. At 9 pm he was exhausted and, though his daily chores weren't finished, he went to bed where he was expected to make love which he managed to get through without complaint. The next morning he awoke and immediately knelt by the bed and said, "Lord, I don't know what I was thinking. I was so wrong to envy my wife's being able to stay home all day. Please, oh please, let us trade back." The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied, "My son, I feel you have learned your lesson and I will be happy to change things back to the way they were. You'll just have to wait nine months, though. You got pregnant last night." Don't you just love it? Voted Women's Favourite Email of the Year J.J. ------------------
  20. ((((((((Lynnee))))))))) You have come to the right place, Dearie!! (((((HUGS)))))) I'm so sorry about what is happening in your family life right now. But lets focus on some positives...you said that you have 3 beautiful daughters and that you are a stay at home mom, right?? Those are wonderful, wonderful things about you!! Its her "official job" here at Mrs. Survival You can join us down in the Gym for weightloss inspiration. 23. Di, yes indeed our little town was overwhelmed with Harley riders last week!! But they bring so much business and contribute thousands to our fairgrounds, that we welclome them with open arms. At work, they are the very best tippers I have ever seen and every one of the hundreds that I met were so kind. My husband being a very proud Harley Davidson bike owner, wouldn't have missed the festivities for the world!! He and DD rode in the huge HOG parade. I choose not to go....too much excitement for me! ------------------
  24. This is an interesting thread. I drive a 94 Dodge Caravan that is an excellent condition. We hope to get a new workvan in the near future. ------------------
