  1. This is for you...... You go, Girl!! When I was in my younger days, I weighed a few pounds less, I needn't hold my tummy in to wear a belted dress. But now that I am older, I've set my body free; There's comfort of elastic where once my waist would be. Inventor of those high-heeled shoes My feet have not forgiven; I have to wear a nine now, But used to wear a seven. And how about those pantyhose-- They're sized by weight, you see, So how come when I put them on The crotch is at my knee? I need to wear these glasses As the print's been getting smaller; And it wasn't very long ago I know that I was taller. Though my hair has turned to gray and my skin no longer fits, On the inside, I'm the same old me, It's the outside's changed a bit. But, on a positive note ... I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life. I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life". I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance. I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back. I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one. I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn. I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. ------------------

  5. (((((Snow)))))) I can hardly wait to become a grandmother so I can have as much fun as you and find fulfillment also!! Your grandchildren are indeed blessed! When I grow up I want to become a "grandma" just like you Of course I'd really lose it, if my almost 18 year old DS made me a grandmother anytime soon at age 37!! But in the years to come, I relish the thought of lavishing attention on my children's children and sending them home with wonderful memories!! I had an absolutely wonderful grandmother in my groing up years, bless her soul!! I want to share what she shared with me with my grandchildren!! Thanks again, Snow, for sharing!!     Uh oh....

    Whoooohooo Deblyn!! Way to go, Girl!! I'm not as on track as before but I'm getting there...a series of upsets has me off course and I'm determined to deal with them and jumping back into the saddle so to speak. Thanks to all of you, ladies, for your wonderful support and encouragement!!! Its so nice to come here and be inspired to press on Keep on keepin' on....Onward to a healthy body, mind and soul! ------------------

  12. Bless you, Dee K, for your inspiration for us all to keep on keeping on I had a very busy week last week with our county fair...ate things I shouldn't have eaten on the run and so forth. I have noticed with this diet, you must do a bit of preparing and planning and when that isn't done....carbs are so easy to grab And then last friday, my friend had a fatal heart attack and after 5 days of living on life support, has since died. It is a tragic loss to all who have known him but we trust God's way is better. So needless to say, my high protein diet has been on hold, I have tried to limit carbs as much as possible but I am not doing as well as before....not making any excuses but that is why I am not on track. Today is the funeral. Hope to get back on track soon and hope to learn to make good choices in adverse conditions. ((((HUGS ALL))))) Deblyn, your plan sounds good...let us know how it works for you ------------------

The friend had a habit of looking at every situation that ever occurred in his life (positive or negative) and remarking, "This is good!" One day the king and his friend were out on a hunting expedition. The friend would load and prepare the guns for the king. The friend had apparently done something wrong in preparing one of the guns, for after taking the gun from his friend, the king fired it and his thumb was blown off. Examining the situation, the friend remarked as usual, "This is good!" To which the king replied, "No, this is not good!" and proceeded to send his friend to jail. About a year later, the king was hunting in an area that he should have known to stay clear of. Cannibals captured him and took him to their village. They tied his hands, stacked some wood, set up a stake and bound him to the stake. As they came near to set fire to the wood, they noticed that the king was missing a thumb. Being superstitious, they never ate anyone who was less than whole. So untying the king, they sent him on his way. As he returned home, he was reminded of the event that had taken his thumb and felt remorse for his treatment of his friend. He went immediately to the jail to speak with his friend. "You were right," he said, "it was good that my thumb was blown off." And he proceeded to tell the friend all that had just happened. "And so, I am very sorry for sending you to jail for so long. It was bad for me to do this." "No," his friend replied, "This is good!" "What do you mean, 'This is good'? How could it be good that I sent my friend to jail for a year?"   20. I got 6 out of 10... And one was because of the movie "Snow Dogs" which taught about the basics of how sled dogs pulled the sled. I must of paid attention Good quiz ------------------
  21. Hi Di! The poultry judging was on Monday but the 4-H/FFA small animal auction is held on Thursday. Today DD competes in the small animal Showman of Showmans class. She will be competing against high school age members. She has to show a goat, rabbit, duck and chicken. Mostly it is to see how she handles herself. This has been a most busy week Thank you all for your congrats!! This is the best place for sharing this kind of news. ------------------
  22. My DD "Ellie Mae" walked away from our county fair with 3 HUGE trophies in the poultry judging today! She recieved Grand Champion Fitting and Showing in the 9-13 age division, Grand Reserve for Harket Cornish Hens and Grand Champion Poultry Overall. Thursday she sells her market cornish hens and she is sure to get a fitting price being she is a champion! She also has entered are 2 of her 7 yr. old pet prize bantam's( One of which won Grand Champion Overall) They are sure to be tired by the end of the week, as DD sets up her very own miniature petting farm. She loves letting little children pet and hold her very tame critters. Her 4-H leaders say that she is the poster child for 4-H poultry, as she beams with passion and enthusiasm! She has promoted many future members to join 4-H.... We sure are proud!! ------------------
