happygirl
A *ahem* while ago, I had posted a question regarding people (mainly women, I suppose) fainting at the sight of blood. Now I can't find the thread! I searched for it under anything that had to do with blood, happygirl and other titles but couldn't find it. Any ideas? If not, and you faint at the sight of blood, could you tell me your experiences? It'd be greatly appreciated! And yep...it's for the book! Thanks a bunch! HG Link to comment
WormGuy
I looked also and I can't find it either. And I do not faint at the sight of blood. I don't care to see it, but I don't faint. John Link to comment
whitewolf55
No fainting going on here either. But I did have a post disappear into thin air the other day....guess the Gremlin ate it. Link to comment
Darlene
I don't faint either and it doesn't bother me. Link to comment
MomM
I don't faint at the sight of blood, but do tend to faint if I have to watch a procedure and not be assisting in anyway. Link to comment
quiltys41
I don't faint at all. I once watched open heart surgery from the gallery while eating my lunch as a student nurse. I just thought it was so cool! And besides that, I was plain out hungry too! Q Link to comment
Grubby
I'm a fainter. Whenever I go to have my blood taken I tell them that I am a fainter an to let me know when it is taken away! I also cannot even see it in those tubes. I have fainted several times. I'm also not a needle person. If the kids get anything beyond a scratch I won't be doing so well. Once my daughter got the back of an earring (plastic) embedded into the back of her ear and had to have it removed in the doctor's office. They were more worried about me than her. My daughter had to have stiches in her knee once and I had to once again be tended to by nurses. Link to comment
happygirl
Thanks for your help looking WormGuy! And ladies, thanks for your responses. I'm not a fainter either, but one of the main characters in the book is. Grubby! You sound just like my character! If you cut yourself and were bleeding pretty badly, would you faint? More than once perhaps? Thanks again, everyone! HG Link to comment
Becca_Anne
My DD was a fainter. She would just get very pale and keel over anytime she had a cut, or saw blood. She's still sqeamish, but won't faint anymore. I quickly learned to have her lie down before dealing with any injury and taught her not to look at it. Link to comment
Grubby
Originally Posted By: happygirl If you cut yourself and were bleeding pretty badly, would you faint? More than once perhaps? Yes. If I have a problem giving blood then a terrible cut would do me in. If I had a terrible cut, after I fainted the first time I would keep telling myself...it's only a red rag/towel/whatever. I wonder if that would help? Link to comment
happygirl
That's funny, Grubby! Okaym I'm sorry, maybe not for you, but it will look *great* in my book! Thanks! Becca Anne, those are some great pointers too, laying down! I'm glad your DD doesn't faint so much anymore! HG Link to comment
Grubby
Becca Anne, what kind of blood pressure does your daughter have and why doesn't she have a problem with it now? I have low blood presser. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? I'm glad I could give you a good laugh Happy. Link to comment
