BiscuitMaker
I opened up the paper and read that the USS McFaul (a Navy destroyer)delivered 55 tons of humanitarian aid for the Georgian people on Sunday. And I was thinking how proud I am to be an American, this country has done so much for countries in need. Getting water and food is so important as we all know. So glad we can help the people of Georgia. Just feeling proud today :usaflag2: Link to comment

Becca_Anne
They sure needed the help. I'm just sorry we can't do more! Link to comment
Shandy
Me too. I wish the media would make as big a fuss over this kind of stuff as they do some of the other things they choose to get excited over. Link to comment
sassenach
Yes we do help many other countries in such basic ways. I know the Marines have entire plan books on how to do things like this and would prefer doing that for sure! Including building facilities and schools, getting in clean water wells, as well as initial aid in disasters. Right now I am just glad the CNC has decided not to go on a vacation with Gustav headed our way. I am glad the ship arrived in tact! Link to comment
