Percysgirl
We ordered a box of tangelos as part of our church school fundraiser, and this box is HUGE! It's 4/5 of a bushel and well over 100 pieces. If the kid's each eat one per day, it's going to last two months! What is the best way to store them? Casey, who is brain-dead tired but veryyyy happy today since her book finally got released! Link to comment
Ambergris
Put them in the fridge, preferably alone in a crisper drawer so they don't get overly bruised. You should strongly consider juicing and freezing the juice, because they will be rotting in a month, even in the fridge. Link to comment
Percysgirl
Thanks, Ambergris. I'll likely start jucing some. My book isn't about EP. It's a cookbook. Link to comment
Canned Nerd
Freeze them whole, with or without the skin, or in sections. The works for all citrus. The peel changes texture but the rest is fine and only needs defrosting. if you store segments, flash freeze them on a tray first before packing in to bags. Try a couple first so you have confidence it works. Link to comment
Percysgirl
Hmmm..... I'm thinking about making a batch of marmalade. Off to look for a recipe! Link to comment
