CrabGrassAcres
Mama used to make fruitcake around Thanksgiving every year. It was one of the few things she made that was edible! LOL She use graham crackers and orange juice, butter, pecans and candied fruit. It was a no bake and had to set in the fridge for several weeks. Anyhow, I'm trying to figure out how to make one that is gluten free. Thought I could use some of the gluten free oats, toasted and ground into flour. Think that would work instead of the ground up graham crackers? Link to comment
Virginia
I remeber this recipe, but know nothing about gluten free. If you give it a try, let us know. Link to comment
Crazy4Canning
I remember a fruitcake but it had flour. I think this is one you'll have to play with. Let us know what you do! I never liked the fruitcake my dad made until I realized he was using cheap rotgut wine. He never drank and never appreciated the 'finer' liquors and wines. Not that I drink all that much myself, but there is something to be said for quality. When I was in college I shocked him by bringing home 1/5 of a good rum and having him do up some fruitcake. It was THE BEST fruitcake that year. Now, it cracks me up that he has ME, the kid (who is way over the legal carding age), get the liquor. Link to comment
