As part of my preps I've been trying to educate myself on how things were done before all of our modern conveniences were invented. Sort of a WWGD - "What Would Grandma Do" project. While searching for vintage recipes I stumbled across a wonderful resource - free ebooks! Both of these sites have a treasure trove of old cookbooks and books on homemaking from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. Many classic book titles are here too - every Jane Austen book is available.

*** Common sense must be prevail when trying any of the recipes as health and safety standards have changed over the years.

Thank you for posting this for any newbies. I've seen this before myself but it is a wealth of information. Good idea--What Would Grandma Do?...!
