CoM
I wasn't sure of where to put this since we don't have a general "Food Storage" section. It just recently dawned on me that some packaging we get from the grocery IS mylar! I just noticed that the lining of a cookie bag I bought was silver and the light bulb turned on....lol I personally only use the large 5 gal size of mylar bags to keep light from penetrating the plastic bucket, but alot of people store small individual mylat bags into buckets. Upon doing a search I found that many products come in thesse plasticized mylar type bags such as some coffees, cookies, etc. They don't vacuum seal, but you can put dehydrated fruits, etc in one and add an oxy absorber, then squeeze out as much as air as you can, then seal either with your food sealer or an iron. I would then use some kind of masking or duct tape to make a label. Link to comment
Midnightmom
Do not despair! Mylar bags CAN be vacuumed sealed. Part 1: http://youtu.be/tU8W92U37PU Part 2: http://youtu.be/em0_ageCtb0 Link to comment
Midnightmom
Another method: This one is really long, but you can basically skip the first half with no loss of understanding. Link to comment
