farm~maid
I put 6# of Great Northern Beans into a pot to soak. I usually soak overnight. Some things came up that needed attention so the beans were forgotten. Now that I can tend to the beans, they've soaked almost 48 hours. I didn't even get a chance to change the water. A few of them are starting to sprout. There are no other differences - smells, looks............ My plan was to make Bean and Ham Soup and pressure can some. I've rinsed and rinsed the beans. Can I proceed with my plans for soup and canning? If not, what else can I do with them besides feeding to the chickens? Thanks so very much for your help. farm~maid Link to comment

Amishway Homesteaders
Oh , I have so done THAT before! Now when I do soak anything I put up a note to check in on them now and then. Out of sight - out of mind. I love this time of year as now I have the time to make home-made soups and stews. IT means Fall is really here! Link to comment
