And by the way, if anyone is wondering...it was me that warned her about "adult" jokes being posted. Oh I do agree with you there by Adult I didn't mean 'Adult' just that sometimes the topics do get good and people vent a bit but that is CLEAN compared to so many other forums - some are down right gross! That is only one of many reasons we like this one! And Yes the one paying the bills has the right to do and say whatever (kiss, kiss).
  3. this forum is a lot better then somewe have seen but it is a adult forum none the less not a family one per say. Glad to have her around (loved her jokes) and we are careful what we post too - but. . .
  4. You are making me Hungry and it is only 6:30 in the morning
  5. WOW Halfpint ! fro your 4th post you did good ! what a lot of good and useful information here plus thank you for keeping it in 'the Kings English' (as Michael calls it) so we all can understand what you were saying. Now we know why we can't find lye in the stores but know what to look for whe we are ready.
  6. Quote: How about the rest of you open fire cooks giving us some of your favorite tips? OK I didn't see this when I read the post but - One this we do is ALWAYS have a pail of water nearby (with dipper) for putting out any sparks that get out of hand and also in case your clothes get a burn just put hand in water and pat out the burn mark. And if the fire really gets to hot you have the water to slow things down. We love to cook this way outside.
  7. here's the recipe we use on all kinds of meat: Dash -paprika Smidgen - garlic salt Dash - onion power Smidgen - pepper now most times I just put a little of this and a little of that on meat , rub it in then put that side down in pan. now put more on the side that's up and rub that in too. then just cook until down. we also do this to any meat going in the crockpot.
  8. we are always making new candles whenever we run low. *** Here is a hint for all you that are useing tapers/candles melted down and then adding wicks. If you are having trouble keeping you wicks straight? just fill the jar or whatever with the wax then as it starts to 'set up' push one of your tapers into the center making sure it goes to the bottom. It helps if you cut this candle off to the height you want the 'new' candle to be ahead of time.
  9. gotta say it is so nice to 'see' what you are doing ! for anyone that is doing it for the first time any guessing is easy - just look at the photo and see what 'Da Boss' Did and you can't go wrong.
  10. anybody remember what this was? What wonderful idea did Mare, have?
