  1. Kappy.....the Nigie babies are so CUTE! You're really a farm now. Course I loved to milk them...once the first doe and I got used to this milking thing. It is an absolute regular chore but ...mmmmm, good milk, cheese, butter ... Did MrMiki get to come home yet? Good to hear from you, Jeepers. Your saga just keeps going on and on. What of the NEW furnace? Glad to hear your health is better. Vegging out at the hotel is probably just what "the doctor" ordered. I don't know if your doc did but....sounds like a good plan. Get well! Little Sister....you seem to have more energy than 4 of me. Goodness! But I agree with your urge to do all this while you still can.....can. Mother....sprouts. Haven't even thot of that this winter. We have all the stuff and seed. Thanks. MtRider ....AWOL from my bed at this hour... Just a bit restless tonite and ZERO* outside.
  2. Despite our plunge into below zero night temps....I've been thinking too about lettuce types, other things we can hang from the porch rafters or the frame of the greenhouse. Greenhouse doesn't work on our windy hill. Or rather, the quality of plastic cover I used does not. Ripped to shreds ...TWICE! But if we securely hang things, maybe with bungies to stabilize the rocking. Less chance of squirrels, and other green nibblers to destroy our work. Didn't really get to participate in the Porch Garden Challenge last summer. But I've got my intentions pointed that way for 2023. Neeeeeed some GREEN in my life again! ....as the wind blows across snow and belies the thermometer's claim of 40*. Hmph! I slept ok...slightly raised the hospital bed we have in one bedroom. DH did the chiro thing later and there was things out of place. I've been pondering on WHAT happened to slam me into the door...and floor. And WHY don't I remember it. Back of head is slightly tender so it made connection to either door or floor...or both. Is that why I don't remember? Then another theory: If I'd lugged the water jug onto the sled....then backed up a couple steps.....and if my heel caught on the board in front of that door...... ANY TIME I run into something with the back of a heel, I fall backwards. It hasn't always been this way. I remember it starting while on Maui. MS...I assume? But that's the only thing that makes sense, beyond extraterrestrial attack. But the force required to open that stuck door....still makes that a bit doubtful. I made a list of things to talk to doc about next week. Yeah...we'll talk neurology a bit. I've gone to the floor [controlled but quickly] twice today. Just suddenly lose "leg cohesion". DH was home so I didn't feed birds or walk dog. I did go down/up stairs for laundry and tools. I was repairing something Annarchy....whats happening if you suddenly lose sight of the cursor on the screen????? Mine just disappeared again. Does it mean is past time to get this whole laptop backed up on a thumbdrive? WEIRD...typing blind. Computer needs to rest and so do I.... Nite all. for Miki's DH.
  3. Thanks for prayer and concern, everyone. Well, mom is very happy to be home so that's good. But..... I fell hard again today. The weird thing is, I'm not sure what caused it? I was dressed very warm for night chores with ducks/geese and walk dog. Insulated coveralls and neck scarf and hat/gloves. Had started a load of laundry in basement. Filled big Reliance jug with warm water for birds. Came out of the basement door [back half of basement is built into the hill and this side is on ground level. I was pulling the child's sled off the stack of stuff.....I need that to transport water jug when I'm walking. DH had my truck to work today while his car is 'in the shop'. Something happened....I think I was pulling on something that was stuck...and then gave way. I was thrown backwards and SLAMMED into the basement door. That would have been fine but as I hit the door, I heard the screech as it opened. [shoot! it wasn't closed all the way to latch] As it opened, it deposited me with still considerable backwards force, back into the basement. It had slowed down the momentum. Next collision was my rear on the cement floor, followed by laying flat down on my back. Must have stopped the force in time to save cracking the back of my head. Wha.... What happened? I was a bit stunned both mentally and physically. I didn't move but thot...well, I DO have my cordless phone AND the push-the-emergency button necklace. Sheeeeeeesh! What is going on these past couple months? 2 black eyes and this is the third assult on my poor neck muscles. Good thing I had tight scarf around my neck...supportive. But I was feeling the SLAM for sure. Eventually I carefully got to my feet again. VERY carefully got the sled, water, dog, and me down driveway to take care of the birds. Told them: hurry up and eat cuz dog, sled, empty jug, 1 goose/1 duck egg and I have to get back up that hill and into the house! Lots of slick packed snow. But no further slips, slides, or flying backwards into doors. Got back inside house. Took 2 Nuprin {this is getting to be a habit} and lay on bed for a while. This evening it's been ok. DH can't adjust my neck until tomorrow...or I'll get a monster headache, for sure. He did rub arnica gel all over my neck/back. Sheesh, that stuff is COLD! But I'm feeling ok now. He'll see what neck damage I took this time. 1st ...the dog spun - hit my chin with her rear and sent my head twisting. 2nd ...the horse dove into a gallop up the hill instead of a slow trot....snapped my head backwards so hard my hat fell off. Now this. My neck hasn't bothered me in years...due to chiro care. What's up with this?? Grateful for in-house chiro!!! Can't figure why I can't remember WHY I suddenly was slamming backwards tho... Musta knocked memory right outta me. ....Dear God, can I please have a boring life for just a while? But yes, thank YOU, cuz tonite could have been a lot worse. MtRider
  4. Praying for Miki's dh!!! Praying for LittleSister's GS.....that God will enlighten him on the word "maturity". Still acting like he's in junior high. My eye ...not really hurting now. Just really want that skin tag thing to stay away this time. Still looks purple and spots of cauterization. I've had a real blessing this week. As some of you remember, years ago I used to lead the women's Bible study at my small mountain church. Eventually I was struggling and also the needs of my folks had increased. The church ended the Bible study....tho I don't know why that happened. Still a lot of ladies coming but older ones were passing too. So during the past 5+ yrs, many things changed in my life. Many friends got old and cold....and moved to warmer climates. Some passed away. Some retired somewhere closer to their kids. Meanwhile, DH and I focused all my available energy on my folks needs. No regrets but now that my dad's passed and my mom's moved away....DH and I look around an realize....hmmm, no one is here anymore. We spent Thanksgiving/Christmas with just us and not really a big deal. But....tho we get on with each other very well, we do need some socialization. or we'll turn into a couple of old hermits on our mountain. And it's not the right time financially yet to move back to Maui. THEN my church started up the Women's Bible study again! I managed to drive myself there.... I'd gotten more review of driving this summer with Mom. I have driven alllll sorts of big and small - private and commercial in my former life. So driving highway for a few miles shouldn't be a big deal. I do worry about having a fatigue or heat meltdown tho. But I even managed to get gas in truck before arriving. It was wonderful to see that half of the ladies present are ones I know so well from all these past years. The other half were folks that wonder who I am. They're new since I dropped out of sight - except for those on the Prayer Request Emails that I've continued to run. It was a meet N greet this week. Then begin next week. I may have a back up for getting home if I fade out. Someone will get me home. I'm very comfortable with living with not much social life. But zero social life.....I did want to change that. Even tho this will cost me energy that hasn't really been fully restored. { ..... like my knees collapsing to the floor earlier today} Well, that's still to be expected. This isn't a Bible study with lots of homework....GOOD! Not able to handle a lot yet. But this....is a good thing! This...is a GOD thing! I'm excited! AND ....shhhheeeeeeeshh we're cold w/o pellet stove yet. Assume getting the part is a lengthy process? Have been down to ZERO for a few nights and MINUS 13* last nite. Down comforter in the rooms that are holding heat. Left the [rotten] furnace up to 80* and at NO point did it feel like even 65* in here last nite. This morning was freezing! INSIDE! [not quite literally .. ] But DH finally remembered we have a rather inefficient space heater in basement. Turned that on this afternoon and it feels normal. Still wearing layers of clothes but comfortable. Both vehicles started up this morning...at zero degrees. Dropped the car off for mech to look at it. Check engine light [allegedly indicating 4th gear of transmission] went off after all these months of DH working extra client for $$. He just had to replace battery tho...???? Is there a tranny problem or not? So mech will look at it......after he gets back. Had to rush his wife into town for appendectomy. Sheeesh! Life is like standing in the surf zone of the ocean. Constantly coming and coming...little waves, big waves, occasional TSUNAMI WAVES ...... And ya just keep timing it and standing firm or diving under till it passes. But....it's life. Those who stay well back and sit on the beach...they don't know life like that. Tsunami type waves might reach them, but rarely. My place seems to have always been in the ocean and experiencing the waves. Anyone else feel like that? MtRider
  5. Oye.....everyone is under such struggles these days. Pressure cooker set on HIGH lately? Praying for all of you...with all the issues. for Annarchy's washer! I'm never getting rid of mine either. My mom hates the new ones. DH and I had a big day "in town" . Lot's of places to pick up one or two things. GOT to get this laptop backed up. Somehow I've had it a year or more and never backed it up. Now have a thumb drive. Tomorrow...if my brain will work. I finally got back in to dermatologist about this "skin tag" thing that grows in the corner of my L eye. She took it off a year ago with that superCOLD stuff. It grew back. It tore off while I slept in Oct...and it grew back. So finally got in to her again. This time she dabbed on some lidocane and snipped it off...then cauterized it. Smell of my flesh burning. Oye. Will send the bitty thing into lab, JIC. Didn't hurt til lidicane wore off. Tues $10 pizza so that was our plan for supper after this long day. I took a Nuprin right away and soon took another one while waiting for pizza. OWWWWWWW. Doesn't help that it's the same eye that I bashed into the stairs a few wks ago. The skin thing was right near the nose. The stair-bashing contact point was lower eye ridge bone all the way other side. They joined hands and IT ALL HURT! All the way home. Thankful that the Nuprin finally kicked in so we could haul all stuff and dog up the stairs. Set oven. Toss in pizza. Eat! Whew... BTW.....now that same L eye is all swelled underneath the eye and purple/red....again. "Black eyes" seem to be a contest between my mom and I. Sheeesh. Bedtime and I'll need another Nuprin. Even glasses [to see computer screen] are hurting. Hoping this will not keep me awake....hope to attend Women's Bible study regroup tomorrow. ....or not. Hope to find a ride if I can get myself there this time. We'll see. MtRider ...stay safe, y'all!
  6. Jeepers...how about oatmeal? Lots of articles on that. But you might have to make compresses ...or how do you keep oatmeal from going down the drain??? If you're allergic, best to try a small spot. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/colloidal-oatmeal#what-it-is https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/oatmeal-benefits-for-the-skin Secondly.....just another thot. DH broke out in a whole body itchy rash after he recovered from C0V!d . It is one of the symptoms. Fortunately, the off-brand antihistamine I had at home worked for him. Do you think that could be a part of your rash? MtRider Praying all your workpeople will be skilles and honest!
  7. Oye....what day is it? What day was Tuesday????? Yeah, belated Happy Bday, Mother....from me too. MtRider ...kinda off the tracks lately..
  8. So nice to hear that you've been treated well, Jeepers! Gives us all hope for the part of humanity that isn't making horrific news or lewd pictures of almost dressed bodies. We see too much of the awful and the good decent folks quietly go on prayerfully about their business. More of us than we might imagine. That's a LOT of plumbing but you're right = house value going up! That's a definite blessing in all your misery. God's got your back and we're still all praying for you too! MtRider ...are you feeling better?
  9. Yesssssss....you nailed it. It was only cracked and they were done in 15 minutes putting in screw(s). No, tripped over DH's oxygen hose that trails him all over the house 24/7. Ohhhh... I know that one too. BOTH my folks had those things for a while. We called it Dueling Snakes! I hope the long hose is a contrasting color to your flooring. MtRider
  10. Awwww, Miki! Youʻve got to be saying to yourself: NOT AGAIN! ʻfelt it tearʻ eeew! And.....isnʻt that the way of injuries. One finger hurts and THATʻS the one you catch on things...repeatedly. Praying youʻll not be tripping. I canʻt give you martial arts falling-correctly lessons thru MrsS. Seriously....is it an issue of poor sidewalks? Or shoes [I know youʻve tried many] Or eye glasses? [bi-focals will definitely trip you if you arenʻt looking thru the correct lens...] And.... will you allow me to suggest a cane? Would that even help? It would be something you have to get used to. It gets better when you stop tripping yourself, I promise. Ask Me How I Know That! <--- THAT I know helps!! And for your dh too. {the prayer, not the hug...lol } Hope your cough doesnʻt turn into anything more, Little Sister. Take a break and rest for a bit. Donʻt want to wear yourself down. Guilt that GrS into serving you for a change! Euphrasyne -- I like my mini-shop vac too. Tho Iʻve got a regular upright too so that I donʻt have to tow the barge behind me. Best use for my shopvac: Had a BAT flying around the living room/kitchen area. Having rabies shots at 7 yrs old, Iʻm a tiny bit HYPER about bats! So I was shooting BBs at the danged thing. [Yes...INSIDE my log cabin. He was hiding in the crack between the ridge line log and the wood ceiling slats. After playing BB pinball for quite a while, I couldnʻt tell if he was dead or I kept missing. Zero accuracy with that BB gun. Did I mention this was after midnight? So I brought up the ladder and mini-shopvac. DH held ladder while I [dressed to cover skin/hair/etc] climbed far enough for the hose to suck that bat into the canister! Left it outside with hose plugged. Checked in morning...yeah. Dead. I like bats for their part in eating pond bugs. I will even share the chimney with them...blocked at the bottom. But some log house chinking let this one in. Iʻm not the repair person so thatʻs now blocked with good ʻole steel wool. OK...check Streams for my post: Mom Fell Again. ....waiting on an update on Mom from Bro.... Just got update: Laceration above eye and broke other hip. Certainly not as bad as it cood could be. Sheʻs not gonna like rehab! MtRider
  11. Thanks "Maxine" Midnight . Today I needed a bit of a smile. MtRider
  12. Property Managers and I calculated that this pellet stove has to be at least 30 yrs old. We've been here 25yrs. But then, we've kept it cleaned. I was so astonished to hear the some home owners don't clear the ash from the main firebox area EVERY time before they light it. AND clean to glass so you can enjoy the fire - and watch to see that it's burning well. So this model is more "primitive" than later models like yours. Newer yet - they are all electronic and automatic this and that. And more $$$ with parts. But I'm assuming that the part we need costs owners far less than installing a wood stove. I suppose if worst came to worst...[ as in: Hooey Hits Fan ] ...we could pull everything out and use the old fireplace and chimney...after pulling extras out of the chimney. The damper is still up there. One of the reasons to grab my dad's extension ladder before house soldn. I rode today and it was a beautiful day. Then went to fetch my chair...which didn't fit in car. But it fit enough that I could tie off the hatch to keep it mostly closed. The young guy trying to use either a rubber bungie or the wimpy other type..... I went back and grabbed the rubber one. MUCH stronger...the other would break easily. He protested that it's too long. I replied....so make it shorter! I tied a loose knot in the length of rubber and attached one end. Then pulled the other hook end thru the hatch latch and doubled back to the knot to hook it. You can get any fit you want if it's too long. Too short is more problematic but still..... Got it home. Parked it outside to freeze any 'stowaways' for a couple days. Covered it due to snow coming in. Bringing it UP 15 stairs....does not sound like fun! I'm thinking of the 2-wheeled luggage carriers [from way back before wheels were on suitcases] might help both DH and I pull it up the stairs without someone trying to push from the bottom. IF it fits between the log railings on both sides of steps. It's a bit wider than I thot. MtRider ....obviously more drama is possible until old is out and new is in....
  13. OOTO.... Well the property manager spent hours trying to find someone to work on pellet stoves. The last people went out of business. Finally found one and they canceled the first appt. with no notice. Then we got the young guy here...and he's had training but I told him how to completely dismantle the thing for him to clean it. I also had printed about 15 yrs ago....how to clean and what this model needed, etc. He said [not a lot of experience yet] that I'm the only one who actually cleans out the ash myself. WELL, OF COURSE WE DO! He also said he's never seen a stove this old. WELL, NOT IF THEY AREN'T CLEANING OUT THE ASH REGULARLY! Anyway, they couldn't find the part # but he also didn't pull the stove insert out from the old fireplace. I think part numbers are on a plate on the fire-box blower. That's what isn't working cuz you must have a good direct flow of air [like a metal-working forge] in order to burn the pellets in that tiny fire box. The other blower is to move the smoke thru the channel and up the chimney. It's working. Fire box blower is not. I would highly recommend knowing how to completely dismantle the stove and clean it out regularly. I use my mini fireplace tools. A small spatula = shovel. A wide paintbrush = the fireplace broom. A coat hanger = the poker. I do not recommend using your own vacuum to clean out the ash. Sharp bits are corrosive and will ruin it. But just cleaning with the micro-tools into a bucket. We keep the ash to spread on our steep icy driveway in winter. METAL bucket with a lid -- rock on lid cuz our wind will blow the lid off and scatter ash where we don't want it. It's good on driveway for sun-melting and traction. [don't track into the house...ask me how I know ] We keep the windows clear ....cleaning them almost every time. The yellow glaze will come off with steel wool and water. It won't scratch the glass. But wearing disposable gloves is highly recommended. Ash is hard to scour off hands and I'd worry about putting too much of that in the drains. So I wipe soap and soot off hands with paper towels first to capture most soot in trash. Then wash the rest down sink. OOTO....if you've had your stove for a while, you probably know all this. But I put it down for others who might need ideas if they are thinking of a pellet stove. It is convenient for it to run unattended except for filling and pushing down the pellets in the hopper. BUT.... I told property manager that I'd really rather deal with a real wood fireplace insert. Cuz we have 3 forms of heating in this cabin...all electric-dependent. If this new-to-us company knows what they're doing and replaces the fire box blower, I won't get my wood-burning stove. Oh well. Not my house. Not my investment. Just me if we lose power in winter. MtRider ...that's what the Mr.Heater Buddy is for... Did that answer your questions?
  14. Yes, well, Jeepers. AFTER my horse ride tomorrow, I will be sending our 50* weather eastward towards Ohio. It's been nice while our pellet stove is still out. Some progress with that...but no repair date yet. But at least our furnace still heats the back rooms. ....and certainly haven't had water spraying everywhere. Didn't do a lot today. Except look for a paper that I've been writing topics to talk to Dr about. WHERE did that thing run off to? I had it yesterday. Hope I didn't drop it. Doan wanna start over.... cuz brain is not remebering things. Thus...the LIST! MtRider .... hate losing things but got my purse sorted for the 68th time in 3 months. { it wasn't in there!}
  15. Today DH had a great idea. As my chiro...he's been working to put my back in place and it isn't staying. Hip pain kept me up last nite. Mid back gets arnica gel most evenings before bed...or earlier! So while we were "in town" he suggests that I really need a new chair. We calculated the age of this chair I sit in....got it from someone who'd had it since college.... It's probably 50 yrs old. I guess it's held up really well. We've had it for 30 yrs. DH is computing what it will cost to buy a new one....while we're saving $ for the car's transmission. Then I said we should stop over at the thrift store on our way home. He never thot of that. So I popped in there and within 10 steps was my chair. I checked all the rest they had but nope...this one fits. The color will grow on me [rust and tans go well in a log cabin] and it's in perfect shape. So I bought it. Then dragged DH inside to see it. He was thrilled with the price and we can come back on Sat. with an emptied car [no wheelchair/no dog] to pick it up! I'm thrilled cuz it hadn't occurred to me to buy a different chair. Yanno....sometimes I think I adapt TOO well! MtRider ....and there is hope for pellet stove repair soon.....
  16. That sounds just like HIM! HE does that to me all the time! HE is mindful of HIS children, right? [ yeah, BTDT ] Dump Frozen Meals.... Hmm... With DH working too much for his back [need new transmission in car ] and me with waaay less energy than I need in a day.... This might work. Thanks, Mother. EGGS..... I am SO glad DH decided to buy ducklings last spring. AND the geese. I sure do wish Bobbycat would not have dined so well on our female ducks tho. VERRRY thankful for the eggs coming in ...in Dec/Jan!! Ann....time for you to fill up your hen house again? Having animals other than take-along dogs is a pain. Someone has to take care of them. That's why I traveled solo X3 this year. But.... if I was having this conversation 'down under in this forum' on WHY the eggs cost more than the bird..... I might say that it's about eliminating the last "cheap" protein for folks who are struggling. OTOH...if one knows how to do it...there is always the protein of legumes and grains combined. We all know that combination has kept folks in 3rd world countries alive for generations. So perhaps our struggling folks will find this solution and ....then we'll be just like a 3rd world country too. This is all theoretical ..of course. MtRider ....but any further THEORETICAL musing probably should be done "down in the wine cellar"
  17. ..... yeah, I've heard that all my life. Weird things....both good and harsh....have always happened to me. I understand when we make unusual choices ....adopt 11 and 13 yr old sisters from another country/culture/language. That will invite UNUSUAL. The odd thing was, that actually went quite smoothly.....except the move to Maui for them might be considered unusual. Anyway....I stayed up way too late last nite. So will pull this train BACK ON THE TRACK .... MtRider
  18. Prayer for Little Sister and Jeepers.....for restored health and energy to be able to make wise choices. And feel better! We've had some repairs at our place too, Annarchy. Bathroom sink is completed....even have a drain stopper. Today B/J installed new front and back door handles. B got the kind that's easier if your hands have trouble gripping....with a 'bar' to grab instead of a round, slippery knob. J might have him install that at their place...cuz of her hand grip. Of course I'd latched the screen door in the back....and there was trouble with that one. B shut the door and couldn't get it back open. So....wanted to go around the house to try from outside. I grabbed a few tools including an old serrated grapefruit knife. Cuz I was going to have to unlatch the hook to the screen door from the outside. After bending a 45 degree angle on the grapefruit knife....I wiggled and jiggled until the latch popped off. Tah dah... Then J on inside and B on outside tried to get the old door handle off. Finally got it. Putting the new one in wasn't a problem. I told them: Thanks for coming over and entertaining me again! We all do tend to laugh a lot....even if things seem to ALWAYS go sideways in this OLD LOG CABIN! New door handles are so smooth now. We could hardly get that back door open for dog to go out to her yard. Repair of pellet stove.....nothing in sight yet. We're getting used to dressing in layers. I'm thinking that might be an important adaption if hooey-hits-fan. Hopefully NOT an adaption we ever need. MtRider ....so late for bed....aaugh!
  19. Jayceef....dull or harsh winter weather is not cheerful. Hope you can find something that works for you. I find it helps me to get sunlight into my eyes daily [not staring at the sun] starting in late fall but any time is good. The pineal gland (sp) in the eye needs it. Sunshine is more cheerful than the darkening most of us have ...unless we're closer to the equator. As for simple Christmas...I think there is a LOT to be said for that - taking it slower. Less pressure. More simple "HAPPY" and "BLESSED" and "FAMILY". Midnight and Jeepers..... I've had this blacking/dizzy for several weeks now. Because it's so similar to orthostatic hypotension...I haven't really been concerned. But...it's not quite the same. Like at least a couple of OTHER folks on this board, I tend to ignore till it's in the way. My functioning has been fluctuating so drastically since I returned from my 3rd trip in Oct this year. A year of grieving and heavy labor/energy expenditure. Of course what I'm describing is not normal. But then....my body Isn't normal. I just need to find out if this is something off-course that is important to note. Doc appt is at the end of the month. [ unless my grief counselor decides I need at least a phone appt - like he did with the sleep issues!] MRI of brain was completely normal tho. { some folks might debate that finding tho......} And Midnight, yeah I know about water intoxication. Sounds weird but a patient at the mental health residence I worked at managed to do that. If I remember right, it takes a LOT of water. But....it's serious. OTOH, in our arid region with furnace running full on.....we can't keep enough water in us! Plus I'm drinking Sleepy Time tea before bed. And Sweet/Spicy if I'm COLD without our pellet stove fixed yet. I assume those versions of tea are a diuretic like green/black tea? Dunno. But it's a good point to remember if someone is in a habit of drinking a lot of water/other stuff. MtRider....trying to keep regular sleep routine
  20. Hope resting will cure whatever is making you feel poorly, Little Sister. Y'know, rabbit tastes just fine esp. if you have some old time recipe and methods. But supposedly it makes a difference when they're harvested. Every month that.............. Anyone know the old tale? This site tells their version of precautions with rabbits. https://www.themeateater.com/hunt/rabbits/fact-checker-is-it-unsafe-to-eat-rabbits-before-the-first-frost MtRider for Little sister and others on MrsS who are ill...or impending illness.
  21. Three hearts? No wonder they made "horror" movies of "skin divers" running into rogue octopodes. MtRider ...great trivia question.
  22. All the BUSY days this week ganged up on me and Initially, I could hardly walk with 2 canes. Too small in here for wheelchair. But I hobbled around and sat a lot. Started drinking some Gatorade daily. Having new symptom of vision going black...like I'll pass out. Weakness too. Have to get down to floor or chair. Even then, blinking....trying to clear vision. It's just the same as orthostatic hypotention = stand up too fast and pulse rate or blood pressure (?) doesn't automatically compensate for change in position. I've had that forever...since childhood. But this...doesn't begin the same. I've been having it for some weeks now....so it's on the list for doc. We'd better have an extra long appt scheduled! Sheeesh! But anyway, thot the electrolytes might help??? I drink water a lot. Got some sun in my eyes. Air a bit fresh to stay on porch long. But can't complain at 40* and sunshine. Wind across the snow fields was Glad I didn't have a ride scheduled with the collapse today. This too, shall pass. Nothing on the schedule til Thurs. MtRider
  23. MtRider comes sliding in ....late to the party. Dee!
  24. Jeeeepers! I started laughing and then coughing! The funniest part of all that was "ignore me. I have Covid... " Now we know our Jeepers is feeling a bit more like herself! ....really need to quit trying to catch up on MrsS ..... oh no. IT'S 1:30 am already. It was midnight just a few MrsS threads ago.... MtRider ....after I read 3 more threads.... really!
  25. You go, Annarchy. But point of fact...your MIL had to have been majorly stresssssed during all that. You weren't telling anything but the truth! Jeepers, you can use the "I'm sick and the mold will kill me" line.....and it also will be the truth. Don't stay in that house in mildew/moldy conditions, dear friend! =-==- Last nite I shut off my old pickup while putting ducks/geese to bed [safe in duckhouse...hear coyotes howling] and walk dog. But even with full gas tank...if absolutely would NOT start again if turned off too soon. It can sit there for a couple weeks in winter and start right up. But not right away after shutting it off. So dog and I caught a ride up to house when DH came home from work. Went down this cold frosty morning with a smidge more snow....and it started right up. [ note to self....don't shut it off!] I turned on the wipers to clear the snow and I felt something 'give' when I turned the knob. Oh for petes sake! Now I can't get them to shut off! I was able to slow them down to the Intermittent stage but there I went out the driveway to tour the neighborhood [warming it up so it would make it back up the driveway to house] .....bright sunshine ....with my wipers going. Property managers J/B were here to continue from yesterday. Ended up 6 hrs....for a 1 hr job. Poor B...he made a tiny error and tho he's sure there's a way to get Part A and Part B separated again, none of us could figure it out today. So he switched out some parts and we have a full working sink....with an UP/DOWN plug in it. For the first time in years we've been here. More importantly...the hole for the sink plug Up/Down thingie does not leak now...cuz all the parts are in. DH and I only replaced the faucet assembly; not the drain plug part. Good thing... if B had that much trouble, we'd have had a MESS. New faucet assemblies have PLASTIC parts for under the sink. Uff tah! B was also going to fix both doors for air leaks.....so I can retire my folded-length-wise newspapers that we stuff into the crack to keep the wind and cold out. He was kinda horrified that it was so bad. So he'll be back tomorrow...he forgot to move those supplies from car to truck this morning. I kept remembering other things...oh, the water pressure tank is surging and needs to be bled again... That's the well guy for that job. He's a good one. B/J had come yesterday while the pellet stove guy was here. We'll all be waiting [Dan and I with extra warm clothes on...] for someone to find a new blower for a very old pellet stove. If not, I suggested to J that we'd welcome a real wood fireplace insert. NON-electric heat! I think we'd be able to buy split wood in the Rockies. ... would REALLLLLY rather DH didn't run the chain saw.... Saw chainsaw fly outta his hands....go over his head.....hit the dirt on the other side.....and THEN it shut off! Got the rest of the meat off the ham bones. DH and I made scalloped potatoes and ham in the cast iron bean pot. Have to remember my granny for that lovely heirloom. Have bones and more ham for bean soup. Soooo..... how much energy {adrenaline} did I use today? I'll fall asleep during bone scan. Probably not the other test. MtRider
