  1. Wow, thanks Cat! What a coincidence (sp?) that the this gets posted the day I mention I have a dehydrator and have never used it! Guess I will take it as hint to go dry something and pretend I can be prepared for emergencies!
  2. It's looking like sun again, but probably going to turn rainy, just like yesterday. At least it's bright for now, gets DD out of bed easier. So does the fact that our cat had four kittens last night. Great addition to our iguana, three parakeets, three finches, and one canary. Mommyof5, I think it's great you can do all that for your family, I've always wanted to, but without anyone to teach me, it is hard, and right now our oven isn't working, but we do have a stove, rotisserie, and crockpot. We even have a dehydrator I bought last summer and have never used. I keep coming up with excuses I guess, "once I get those nifty bags that seal up, I'll make weeks worth at a time". Someday, hopefully before I need to know! Hope everyone has a great day!

    Ick.

Ick is right! I found out a couple months ago that if you've never had an abnormal pap, some doctors (or nurses) will let you have that done every two years instead of every year. I don't have a regular doctor to go to, I see a nurse at Planned Parenthood, but I really like her because she is willing to talk to me about other things than just birth control. Jenna, I think you are so brave and love that child more than anyone could know. It's so easy to keep a child (just to keep it, not take care of it!), I can only imagine how hard to was to bless someone else with one of the most precious gifts ever.
  4. Looks like it'll be sunny today. Probably a tease like yesterday, it just turned cloudy and rainy. DD stayed home yesterday with a fever and she actually slept almost all day. Usually when she's "too sick" to go to school, as soon as she knows that bus has gone by, she feels better. Today she's staying home again. Probably doesn't need to, but just in case, since I can't go to the school and pick her up. And DH is an hour away so can't do it either. I'll just let her sleep and make sure to knock the "sick bugs" out of her. BTW Cat, I don't know if I mentioned how old she is, she's 7 1/2, and DS is 3 1/2. Both are October, Election Year Babies! No baby this election year though! I think two is enough for me! And Cavey's got it, quading is riding on ATV's. We only have one, we bought it with our tax return. (I'm not entirely sure WE is the correct word, although now I like it!) We have an olive green Honda Recon 250, not big, but that's ok, because if I get it stuck, it's light enough for me to move (usually). We also have a little dirtbike, a 70, but has a weight limit of 135, so I'm only 10-15 lbs over. Aiyana loves the quad, and always wants to ride it by herself or give us rides, and Dalen loves the dirtbike. He wants to do wheelies (safer to do on a little bike since the grown up has their feet on the ground while they do it) and loves to go fast. Of course we wear helmets, even if it wasn't the law, I'm a paranoid mommy, especially since one of my younger brothers has brain damage from being hit by a car while riding his bike with no helmet (TWICE!). It's so much fun to go riding, we don't get to go out at the same time, and have to take turns, we usually have 5 "big people" and two kids with us. But it's fun and gets us out of this trailer park and into the woods. Someday we hope to but some property and a real house, and then we won't have to lock our quad up in the van! Ah, dreams.
  5. Strange, usually there are a few posts in here by now...I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. It's sunny here, a good day to clean out our van after quading and camping Saturday night. Everyone was too pooped to care when we got home yesterday. Spring break is over here, I finally get a chance to clean a little better without my DD chasing after me! I think she had fun on her spring break, with her mommy/daughter day, and family day at the zoo, and then quading and camping. Hope your Monday is a great one!
  6. Good morning all. Looks like it will be sunny here. DH is getting off work early today and is going to take the kids and me (of course!) to the Woodland Park Zoo. We are going to have a family outing for the last day of spring break. Can't remember the last time we actually went anywhere except for the woods to ride our quad! DH has never taken us to the zoo, never had the money or the time. So I'm charging up the camcorder and getting a tape cleared off. I might be renting a room to do massage in town. Scary to take that step. It's already a business that has a nail lady and a tattoo artist who also does piercings, woodburnings, airbrushing, and other things. I figured just to pay my third of the rent, I would only need to do 5 hours of massage a month, which is a whole lot less than trying to rent a shop on my own, but what if I can't get any new clients. I've never tried to get more clients in the three years I've been doing massage. I've been waiting for my baby to get into school. But this should be a good opportunity if I'm not too scared to jump in. Hope everyone has a great Friday!
  7. Today is grey and looks like rain. Yesterday was great, not too hot and not too cold. DD and I had our day. We opened a savings account for her, $17! I wish my parents had taught me how to save. She says it's for a house! And she's only 7! We visited my "adopted" mom, went shopping in a little store here in town, went to the library, and went to the sub shop for lunch. It was great just to hang out together and not HAVE to do anything. And we took the bus there and back. It was a great day.
  8. I got my package from my secret pal Saturday!
  9. Good morning all. We spent most of the weekend out quading. We didn't camp, as the nights are still cold, but we left around 11 am both Sat and Sun, and stayed til around 10. We brought some friends with us, so everyone had to take turns riding, but everyone had fun. It was wonderful weather, strange to wear shorts and a tank top in April! Well, I need to go post somewhere else and talk about my package from my secret pal. Have a great day everyone.
  10. Today is another beautiful day. Supposed to get in the low 70s and mid 70s tomorrow. DH had to work but hopefully, so it's just me and the kids today. Hope that he remembers to get eggs and easter baskets today! He keeps forgetting! It would be very unhappy to have the bunny forget our house! Hope everyone has a great easter!
  11. I sent mine out, and I know Hill got it, but I haven't received one yet, but that's ok, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
  12. What a beautiful day here. The sun is out, no clouds in the sky. The only place I can see snow is in the tops of the cascades. A beautiful spring day today. Yesterday when I told my DD that I'd check into homeschooling for her, she said no, she wanted to stay in school so she can see who her second grade teacher will be.I'm confused. It's generally the mornings she doesn't like, that's when she doesn't want to go, and after school she says it's fine and she likes it. Next week is spring break though, so I'm going to have a mommy/daughter day with her, so maybe we can talk without the boys around. I think I get to go to work today, I have to call in a couple hours and check if there are enough people who want massage today. If not, maybe I can get to go out on a bike ride or go ride the quad. Have a great day everyone, and thanks for the advice!
  13. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm closer to the Monroe/Everett area though. My daughter says she doesn't have any friends, doesn't like her teacher (though he's not mean, she "just doesn't like him", doesn't even like recess! Her teacher says she's very quiet, very smart (does great in spelling and math!), doesn't cause any problems, but she just doesn't talk much. At home she's a social butterfly! I don't know how to help her, and have a hard time going anywhere myself as we only have one vehicle and DH needs to drive to work.
  14. Good morning everyone. Of course I should be cleaning, as always, but I'm trying to get caught up on the eBay thing, since I has so many days where I couldn't list. I have a few things to list for other people so I have to do that before I do my own. My DD is having problems with school, she's only in first grade and begs me almost every morning to homeschool her! I wouldn't have the slightest idea of how to start. DS is still sleeping, he makes my mornings so easy. It's a grey day so far, doesn't sound like it'll clear up enough for me to want to go outside. I can't wait until DH finally decides to buy me some flowers, I have a black thumb, but I keep trying every year! I miss the color of spring!
  15. Yay! I think my computer might be finished! Today is the first time I've been online since Thursday, I thought I was dying! lol. I sure hope this computer is as good as my neighbor who built it said it will be! Anybody know anything about an Athalon64? I haven't a clue! DH just bought whatever he was told to. We had a decent weekend so we got to go out riding on our quad and our dirtbike. My brother also showed me how to use spikes and climb a tree. I only got my feet 6 feet off the ground and couldn't make it any farther! It's a lot harder to get down too, ouch! Rope burns hurt!(I wonder if that's what gloves are for? lol) I should be cleaning up, but I have to make up for lost internet time, I think I'm an addict, lol. Have a great day everyone!

    WOW!

AAwww.....I'm so glad you liked your box of goodies!
  17. uugghh! I think my computer is playing an April Fool's Joke on me! I can only reach some websites, and most of them say they are unavailable! And I can't get into my msn mailbox today! How am I supposed to answer any questions people have about my ebay stuff? That's the mailbox it goes to. What a pain in my butt! Can't wait until my neighbor finishes building my NEW computer! I think this one is jealous that's it's being replaced. Hope tomorrow is better. Hope you all have a better day than me!
  18. Ok, I got mine sent out. Sure hope my secret pal likes it. Sure was hard to keep the kids out of it!
  19. I agree with you mommyof5, even though I don't post very often. I guess I read a lot of what is going on, but I'm still a bit afraid of posting. But it's nice to see everyone else so friendly and helpful.
  20. Today is so grey, a little depressing after the beautiful sunny day yesterday, I even wore a tank top! I painted part of one of my living room windows yesterday, wondering which window to do next, and what to paint. Yesterday evening I found out that one of my old classmates was killed while snowmobiling here in Washington. It's hard to corrolate that "29 year old man" the news talked about was the boy I met 20 years ago. Ouch, Snowmom! I have a client with Diverticulitis. Did the dr. tell you to watch your diet so you so don't aggrevate the condition? Hope you feel better!
  21. I've got mine too, , hope I do a good job. I think I'm going to have some fun.
  22. ok, Snowmom, I tried to send the list before, apparently I am more of a computer dummy than I thought! I will try again! Someday I will be smarter than the inanimate object........or not!
  23. Oh Snowmom, it's so pretty! How do you get the corners to match up? I'm so jealous. Seeing your quilt makes me want to go sew now!
