  1. Glad your GS liver test came back good Littlesister! Jeepers I'm so excited for you that your house is almost all done! I hope you can sell it for a great price and get to finish your move by spring. I'm sure you'll be glad to finally finish sorting through it all and put that part behind you. I'm sure the gifts will be appreciated by patients who need them at your Dr's office I got my shopping done and only one more day of work before I'm on break until the new year! I'm really looking forward to the time off
  2. Renewing my CPR today and going to buy holiday meal fixings.
  3. Book group brunch at my house this morning was so fun. We will meet up again later this month to go to the Botanical Garden night lights on the 27th. Really enjoy this group of ladies we have a lot of laughs together. I have everything ready for Christmas except still need to wrap which I'll start to tackle this afternoon. Enjoying myself today <3
  4. Hope you have a very special Birthday!!
  5. Jeepers glad there were only minor issues. Honestly I wouldn't worry about the fridge, it's new and a new owner can replace with a smaller unit if they want one. I hope you get a really good price for your house and can put that behind you. Late March seems like a good time to list it so it will close and sell by summer when lots of people move.
  6. Got package ready to mail to my daughter today, then baked cookies. Worked some as well Feeling the holiday spirit today
  7. Congratulations Euphrasyne! That's wonderful Necie the littles will remember you were the one who brought them gifts. I would be really hurt as a kid if only the adults got gifts. I think for those who don't want material things a membership to a local children's museum, zoo, aquarium or other activity can be welcome. Littlesister I hope that the windows get put in soon. Miki have a good weekend! You always seem to have lots going on hope you get some rest too. I went to quilt guild Christmas party today and had a great time. I won the game and came hope with a pile of fat quarters Also a fun table decoration a mason jar with fairy lights which is now sitting on my mantle. I was voted in guild vice-president so I will be busy next year with quilt guild duties but I really enjoy it so it won't be much work more like fun. This afternoon I'm baking more cookies and then wrapping gifts. Tomorrow I'll pick up the last of the stocking stuffers and then we will almost be ready for the holidays.
  8. Hello everyone. Just getting through the week. My FIL passed on Tuesday evening, so processing my feelings, supporting DH and the kids. I did manage to sew a little today and got some cookie dough mixed up to bake tomorrow for DS 4H party on Saturday.
  9. Snowmom I hope you let the office know about that he shouldn't be tearing your skin.
  10. ((((Miki))) It's so hard to lose them.
  11. ((((Miki))) it's so hard to watch our furbabies decline so much. Hugs
  12. All but the stocking stuffers purchased! It's starting to look like the holidays here. Excited to get the outdoor lights up when they arrive. My favorite time of the year
  13. Beautiful tree Miki! I got one decorated and the other will do tomorrow. Haven't taken pics yet but will post too when I am done
  14. Mt Rider Brrr that sounds quite nippy! Glad you made it back up the hill ok. I have to warm up like that too when I get cold it goes all the way to my bones and only hot water seems to work to warm up. Necie that looks like a wonderful family gathering Miki glad you got your tree up Littlesister raised garden beds is a great gift to yourself I bought some seeds this week for pure enjoyment, some blue poppies, and a frilly red popp anyd ground cherries. I am planning on doubling my garden next year we'll see how that goes. I want herbs and flowers and more veggis. I made my Christmas ornaments this morning for the Mrs S Ornament exchange. Have such fun doing that every year. I also got all my Christmas cards ready to mail. Packages are starting to arrive so time to start wrapping!
  15. Glad everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! We did too. I undecorated for fall today and put up the big Christmas tree in the foyer. Tomorrow the kids will get the decorations down for me. We are also setting up the guest room and that meant moving things out of that room so it was a busy day. I did take some time to relax and read today too.
  16. Had a wonderful meal with friends family and my kids and DH here at our house. Got the kitchen cleaned up and enjoying my down time. Puppy behaved herself all day too which was nice since she isn't used to me cooking all day.
  17. Happy Thanksgiving! We had a great feast and had friends over so it was fun and very relaxed. Now I'm in a turkey coma
  18. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Made pies today- pumpkin, apple and chocolate. And got the ingredients all laid our for the remaining items to make tomorrow. My friend made mashed potatoes and I am putting the turkey in, have dressing dried and ready to go in the morning, sweet potatoes and gravy and green bean casserole ready to go. It wasn't even hard to clean up I do it as I go and I got to enjoy the rest of the afternoon just watching tv. Took today and Friday off so enjoying my long weekend
  19. I won't be on to post tomorrow so wanted to get this up here so you'd be celebrated. Wishing you a very special Birthday!!
  20. Happy Thanksgiving week everyone! I've been cleaning/tidying and prepping my kitchen for the big day. My friend's mom is coming so I want it to be ready so all I have to do is set up on Wed and cook. I was going to grocery shop today but then thought better of it and will go tomorrow when people are at work on my lunch hour. I have my menu planned. Raked leaves today and moved some things around to try to clean up the random items so only one room is a "storage room" up there. I had the kids move both stoves, the fridge and all 6 air conditioner units into that room so I can shut the door when I don't need in there and no have to see those items all over. We were going to put them into the attic but the stairs are so narrow and it's just not workable to move them up and down every year from there. The basement is too damp for storing them. So this is a workable solution. I will eventually get professional help to move the appliances out of my house but don't want my family trying because I am worried they will hurt themselves or damage the wood staircase.
  21. Quilt guild today and volunteered to be guild VP next year which means I'll serve as President the year after. I'm a beginner quilter but I can run meetings and since no one else was volunteering I stepped up. It's 12 meetings a year and we do a lot of service work so it feels good to help with that. This week just flew by and honestly it feels like this fall is just evaporating. I'm hoping to get help moving the air conditioners up to the attic. We took them out of the windows 2 wks ago but they are all just sitting in the rooms now..my family just isn't proactive about things like this. And this week I need to get my tire fixed it keeps losing air so that will be my big priority Monday. Firestone is just down the street so hopefully they can figure out where the leak is and let me know if I need new tires.
  22. Jeepers What are the drops they are having you use called? I'm guessing they have numbing med and maybe antibiotics in them so the antifungal med is probably not the right med and is most likely designed to be used on an intact eardrum. Once you have a perforation introducing anything else other than what they prescribed could be dangerous as that is an area that can get infected really easily. I hope the ENT can get you in fast. Annarchy I'm so sorry about your friend Littlesister and Midnightmom yes glucose tabs are really good to keep in a vehicle or your purse so you have them handy when you're not home near food. Low blood sugar is nothing to mess with Miki glad your DH is doing so well after his surgery Necie I'm happy for you that you have so much to put up! I froze some things this year and made some applebutter but didn't can as much as I would have liked. Nothing new really to report here same old same old. Enjoying the cool autumn breeze right now and having my cup of coffee. The garden is put to bed and looking forward to the cozy winter months and hopefully working on my quilt.
  23. Hope your Birthday is super special!
  24. Littlesister I'm really sorry your GS is giving you attitude you don't need that. Hope his labs come back good so he can get into the Coast Guard and hope he grows up a bit. We got all the A/C units out of the windows yesterday and today I raked more leaves. Have done about 1/3 of the front yard, started where they were thickest. Will be plenty more of that for the next few weeks. I also spent most of the day reading my book for book group which was a nice way to spend a rainy Sunday
