    ASIAN BEETLES

It took a beautiful Indian Summer day like yesterday to bring on the beetles. Now we are invaded. You can just see them swarming in the air, on the sides of the house, using every opportunity to get in the house! Uhhhhh! I have about 300 of the little beasts on my kitchen ceiling now preparing for a long winters nap. Today I plan to get my vacuum out with the long attachment and suck them up!! This may be a few day project by the size of the army outside my kitchen door but I plan to win!!
  2. You must be so proud, Edensong!! I got to see your daughter...not an easy role, thats for sure!! Talented young lady. I'm so glad that she was alive in the show I did learn something about maggots and bacteria that I certainly did not know before watching the program...who says tv is not educational?
  3. I really like this story! Thanks Hill!!
  4. Thanks Joan!! I like #5 especially. I see way too many spoiled teenagers! There are many parents who ruin thier children by giving way too much and not expecting them to work to help defer costs and teach responsibility. We are missing something huge in this generation and I pray its not devestating to our future. Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping; they called it opportunity.
  5. I've got the book and I've been reading it slowly, hoping that its keys really stick with me. I've been following Dr. Phil's weight loss challenge (Mon and Tuesdays) and was so elated that none of the 13 participants got kicked off. I'm going along with the participants as to not get ahead of them. The first key to learn is right thinking. Its really alot to think about and really gets inside you in places you didn't know were there. Thats why this is so much different than a diet but of making lifestyle changes and healing the inner you to be all you were meant to be. OI highly suggest reading The Ultimate Weight Solution, logging on to Drphil.com, and watching the show on Mondays and Tuesdays. Dr. Phil makes perfect sense,...heal the heart, body and soul and the weight will come off and stay off for good! *Ginger steps away from her infomercial camara Let the product do the rest.
  6. I'm here, Snow...just gonna breeze thru' and read as many posts as I can before going to work. (((((HUGS ALL))))))

    Tough Day

((((Joan)))) It has been a tough week. I'm truly sorry about your friend, Howard. Sounds like he is a remarkable man...I'm glad you were friends and spent time doing what you loved.
  12. Weekdays at 5:45 am, I absolutely hate to hear my alarm clock blasting me out of sleep-filled bliss....but most Saturdays, I love to lounge as long as I am able and hear our little Napoleon (sebright banty rooster) crowing like crazy from the chicken coop. He just does not understand that we humans need to have laid back morning every once in awhile
  13. Cat, you be sure to have the grandest time ever! WE need these excursions! We most definately deserve exclusive girl-time every now and again to make us better women. My DH loves it when I go for a tune up. Our retreat is all set for November and I can't wait!

Absolutely!! Like my quote after my siggy...we are a colorful bunch

    So......

I like your comment on the oceans, HappyGirl! I guess the main thing is we cannot force our favorite colors on others and expect them to like it as much as we do. I like forest green also...sounds like your color schemes are absolutely beautiful with the dusty yellow shades. Just like you

    So......

BTW....if its true that God's favorite color is green then I'll just have to wait until heaven to be bathed in it. I always thought God's color was sky blue...no matter where you go on this earth...the sky is gorgeously blue on a sunny day for all to see.

    So......

My favorite color(s) is any shade in the burgundy-wine-maroon-mauve selections. I adore these colors...amazingly enough my last 2 minivans have been my favorite color. I love wearing these colors! My home is accented fluently in these colors by way of pillows, swags, and floral arrangements on a nuetral backdrop. You can't have too much of a good thing
