Only thing exciting happening today is hubby and i are getting a flu shot.....now that the elderly have had their shots my doc is passing em out to us "youngins." Do any of you guy's get your flu shot this time of the year? Do you think they really work? I do. Still house hunting.....not much luck..... That's all....... logcabinmama Posted November 5, 2002 Share Posted November 5, 2002 Good morning everyone. I think it is colder today than yesterday, but I always dress warm when I go outside. Yes, I get the flu shot each year. We got them last week. I also think they really help keep me from getting the flu bad. I may get a light case of flu sometime during the winter or spring, but I don't get the bad flu. I have been getting the flu shot for well over 15 years now. Probably close to 20 years in fact. I know one year, about 26-28 years ago, I had it sooooo very bad. I was down for close to 3 weeks with it. It was the flu that you were always tired and couldn't get any energy at all. At that time I had 3 kid and one was not in school yet. I do remember I spent all the time in bed that I could. Well, I know someone will get page 5 today, but it won't be me. I came on just for a while in the morning and then was gone the rest of the day. Hope everyone got their flu shots now. Hope things are going better for you Spit. My mom and dad will be with Pat for this week's chemo, my sister for the next and me for the one after that. He lives a ferry ride away, takes about three hours in total to get there. lowlander Posted November 7, 2002 Share Posted November 7, 2002 Just got back from Edmonton tonight. We were sent yesterday, to see a Neurologist. No news to report. I really wish there was something to tell everyone. It would seem, that most of the specialists are quite perplexed. He has symptoms, but no apparent cause, that they can narrow down, other than the heart attack. We have to wait for three more additional tests to be conducted and then the results compiled. One test is tomorrow & another one is next Friday (Nov.22nd). Then Dec. 10th - 12th. We may hear something after then. This is very frustrating for the both of us. Snowmom, Snow, Snow Mommie or Snowy or whatever. The sun is trying to come out so may end up being a nice day today. Won't get into the 50's though. Sure could use a few more days like that though. Brigie, that is a way for you to go, but I guess you need to take your turn too. Spit, sorry you are all put into the waiting mode. It is so hard to have to set around and wait. Like you said, if you knew the problem, you could deal with it. This is so hard when you don't know what you are dealing with. Still praying for the Lord's will to be done. Yesterday did turn out just GREAT, it was in the mid to high 50's in the afternoon. It was soooooo nice out that we couldn't resist putting up our Christmas lights so we don't have to do that when it is really cold. Today is not suppose to get warm at all, only in the 30's. Boy, I don't know when Beb became Bleb and it was only a few days ago that someone called me SnowMommy. Think that was Bleb that called me that. I do hope things went well with Pat and his chemo. Keep your chin up Spit and we will keep you in our prayers. Yes, Congrats, Beb for getting the page. Guess I had best get going now and don't forget to record your miles in the 'Gym' forum. Have a great weekend spot with sis. Bleb, oh my mixing up your days..... I talked to my mom last night and Pat got quite sick from this round of chemo.... I will talk them in greater length tonight. got a call at supper time to go help clean a new house, off I went worked till 9 going back at 7 this morning working all day and tomorrow, he also has me booked for next week. Pays 12 and hour 15 if I bring my own cleaning supplies, not bad. He said that in the spring he will hook me up with contractors to do landscaping.... hey hey snow mommie..... Sorry to hear that Pat was sick with his chemo. From what I have heard that happens a lot. I know my f-i-l was very sick when he had it. But that was many years ago and I thought that it might have improved. Today is the first day of deer season around here. The traffic was really something last night. But I have seen it a lot worse. I have only heard 1 gunshot so that one shot either got the deer or the person gave up. Brigie, you are doing a great job keeping up with Spit-Spot. Your number of posts are coming up fast this way. Goose Liver Posted November 10, 2002 Author Share Posted November 10, 2002 No kidding Bleb, glad I don't live around a place that has hunting, first of all I would be out saving all the animals, bringing them home to live with me. It would be so crowded in my house. don't go outside until it's over S mommy. Talked to my mom last night, she said this round of chemo really took it out of my brother, kinda of like having a bad flu..... Poor guy, they weighed him though and he hasn't lost any weight, that's a good thing. My mom says he doesn't really look all that well...... sigh........... I wonder what kind of trouble spot and sis are getting into this weekend? Hope they don't get into too much trouble. well I'm off to wash a house full of windows, this morning, he said it should take about 5 hours. blah, did 3 hours on Fri. night, and 7 hours yesterday, this is not my favorite kind of job.........
