read both very carefully, these are expensive and require much thought. Some are a snap to use while others are impossible.

 

I would like to get the attachemnt to grind flour with my kitchen aid, for now I have the Little Ark hand grinder.

Q41--you will have to research some on the net, some will not do corn. But I do have a hand crank for back up and it workds great, I think I paid 59 dollars for it at EE.

I just ordered the Kitchen Aid grain grinder. I sure hope it works...My sister was able to get it for me half off, somewhere or other.

 

I was wondering...How much flour to you get out of wheat grain? Say...What quanity would 10 lbs. of wheat grain give me? Does anyone have a favorite wheat? I can buy the grain from the local Mennonites for 20 cents a pound.

10 pounds of wheat berries will give you 10 pounds of flour... unless of course you spill some!

I prefer hard white wheat to the hard red variety. Nicer flavor to me, and apparently a reduced chance for developing a wheat allergy.

I guess I'll go out to the Mennonites and buy a load. For long term storage, do you just freeze it for 3 days, then pack into 5 gallon buckets, with 02?
