ArmyOfFive4God
How long after pulling flour from the freezer do you allow it to dry & HOW before vaccing it or storing it with O2Abs.? Link to comment
Cricket
I give it a couple days on the kitchen counter. I want to make sure there is no condensation after I put it in plastic for storage. Link to comment
ArmyOfFive4God
IN the bags? Link to comment
Cricket
Yup. In the original bag. I then seal bag and all into plastic using my Foodsaver. The only drawback is that it compresses the flour, so you really do need to sift it later. Link to comment
One Frugal Mom
I guess I am the odd one.... I have never put my flour in the freezer before storing. I have large zip-loc baggie type bags that I can put 4 5 lb. bags of flour in....and I have not had any problems. The longest I have stored flour this way is about 13 months...maybe that makes a difference. Link to comment
ArmyOfFive4God
THNX so much Cricket! Molly, I'm hoping to store these for at least a couple of years. I don't freeze my flour that I keep in my kitchen bucket, & I go thru that like crazy. Link to comment
Fritz_Monroe
Where do you get these big bags? What I do now is seal it via the Food Saver. I then freeze it for a week. Let it thaw and put into storage. Link to comment
Darlene
There's been discussion in the past here about how freezing it will kill the bugs, but that the eggs can survive that, so I think it was westie that was in the process of doing some research on how to let it stand at room temperature for a period of time, and then re-freezing it one more time. I'm like One Frugal Mom though, I usually don't freeze any of mine. Link to comment

I have about 50 that I use and re-use over and over, since I am not putting liguid in them. I will ask my DH and see if he remembers. Link to comment
