westbrook
that is the way a town used to be! it is the way it should be! but alas... today most people think it is all about them! ever seen the t-shirts "its all about me!" so those jars collecting money for these projects get stolen off the counters at the stores and 'do' allow them. we have become a society of anonymity so there is no accountability. I loved the story! wish everyone felt this way again. Link to comment

MomM
God bless that family and that community! That's the way it should be - neighbor helping neighbor. (and I think it is in a lot more instances, but it doesn't make the news). Link to comment
Crazy4Canning
This is a great story. Makes me want to quit the city and move to a smaller town so I can live near people who treat each other well. I too, wish people acted this way all the time. What a better world it would be! Link to comment
