westbrook
Not only is Google tracking flue inquires but they are reporting instantly to Center for Disease Control! look up flu symptoms.. you are not reported as a statistic to CDC! you name isn't documented but your location is. lightening speed! wow! wonder why? me looking up fever from flu gets put into a statistic? oh goodness... I sure could have fun messing with their stats! every day look something flu related up! can you imagine! this can be used against them! Link to comment
michelle
What? Oh dear. I've screwed up their stats bad then because I've been using Google for 2 days searching endless for all kinds of flu stuff. Why in the world are they doing this? What is the point? Link to comment

sassenach
LOL. Well, thats the plan I guess. It really would not be a fair survey by Google, sheesh. They set no parameters for it to be truly legitimate in the first place, so google away friends! Link to comment
westbrook
http://www.google.org/flutrends/ http://cbs5.com/health/google.flu.tool.2.862541.html http://cbs5.com/health/google.flu.tool.2.862541.html ok, right from the googles mouth! http://blog.google.org/2008/11/tracking-flu-trends.html but to answer your question...Fox News reported it on 11/12. what bothers me is ....why does google think that because I look up the word 'flu' I should become a statistic? So I say.. lets give them what they want..numbers!!! keep looking up flu! become part of their problem not part of their solution! you know I understand tracking my searches to help better understand how to market to me since that is how a search engine is free.. advertising! but... to report to the CDC? and think that this is a real number? What is next? Link to comment
ArmyOfFive4God
THNX, west. What a bunch of idiots. They're trying to produce a pandemic where there isn't one, yet when there really is one, they are suddenly quiet Link to comment

This is to supposedly help the CDC track the flu outbreak. Link to comment
