I know you can can veggies, meals, and fruits, but can you can whole wheat flour? Let me explain. I have a considerable amount of ground flour that a friend of mine ground for me and gave me. It is taking up space in my freezer. I am wanting to get rid of my second freezer and just have the one over my fridge. I am able to can everything else, but is there a way to can the flour? I dont' want it to go rancid by just putting it in my pantry. Any tips would be great. Thanks

ndbeckner1, hi there wave

We have a few really good threads about how to properly store your flour. You can not 'pressure can' it like your meats, vegies, etc... But you can vacuum pack it in jars.

Do you have foodsaver? That is one method you can use if you have the attachment. Then there are the 'Pump N Seals' that would also work for that, one of our members was selling these in the 2 bits forum.

You can also store it in mylar bags, buckets, etc... You want to keep out moisture and bugs too (which need air to survive).

I'll see if I can find those threads I mentioned and bump them up for you.
