Cat
If you've ever seen "The Amish Cook"'s newspaper column, you know it's a great collection of recipes. The column started out written by Elizabeth Coblentz, but she has passed on and it is now written by her daughter Lovina Eicher. The publisher has cookbooks that they can't sell to the general public because of printed cover flaws. They will be destroying these after Friday, Feb 11. So the owner of the feature is offering a complete set of these imperfect cookbooks for half price. They are *softcover*, so you know what you're getting. http://www.oasisnewsfeatures.com/special'>http://www.oasisnewsfeatures.com/special What I like about the column (which you can follow at the website if you don't get a newspaper) is the "slice of life" that is included. It's like a quick letter written by a friend every week, with a recipe included. http://www.oasisnewsfeatures.com/ Link to comment

Amishway Homesteaders
----> Now you know ladies when the cookbooks get to your home and you start using them............... You can't use the microwave to make a meal - that just would not be right. Link to comment
Cat
I've actually bought supposed "Amish" cookbooks with microwave instructions in them. But to be fair, they were compiled with recipes from friends of the Amish, too. Link to comment
