Well, I'd like to point out that I am guilty of all of them except the AM in the morning one. But I can add one that I have to catch myself saying all to often even though I know better. The little box where you withdraw money.The ATM. Automated Teller MACHINE. No need to add another machine to it.  I go to the ATM machine to withdraw(L) money. It's just ATM. Not ATM machine. But I'll do it everytime.

 

I could not convince my cousin that she didn't 'unthaw' meat from the freezer. To unthaw is to make frozen. Although these days it is becoming acceptable. Sigh. Same with sneaked vs. snuck. We were taught snuck was not a word, but we became lazy and didn't care anymore so it snuck into our dictionaries. Ain't that a blip.

I beg to differ as this phrase implies that the situation is "fluid" and could change at any moment.

I agree with Midnight on this one.  But one could say "Currently"....

 

OTOH....if your phrase is not incorrectly redundant, why not get creative?

I just say what comes to mind. Guess the oldest dictionary is still in my brain. They have changed so many words for texting and such that I have no idea what half of that means.
